In a clinical laboratory of a hospital, an enormous amount of effort has been required to maintain the quality of an analyzer, standard solution and control samples. An object of the present invention is to provide a control method for controlling a clinical laboratory with reduced cost, and a control apparatus using the same. In order to control data of an analyzer, standard solution, and a control sample, a support center is connected to each analyzer located in each hospital through a network line. Various kinds of analysis parameters and the result of measurements are exchanged so as to provide each clinical laboratory with a control situation in real time.

An automatic analyzer can be promptly repaired when the abnormal state occurs, reducing the non-operating time, automatically performing reinspection required for the analysis. The reliability of analysis results can be obtained efficiently. An automatic analyzer includes a storage unit for storing information about the operation of equipments of the automatic analyzer, information about usage histories of expendable supplies provided for the analysis, and an analysis-ID control unit giving an ID to the analysis, the analysis ID being used as information for identifying the analysis to derive a calibration curve. Data stored in the storage unit is organized along the same time axis both in the order of samples subjected to the analysis and inspection, and in the order of analysis items, so that the data is output in a total data display area. The data is organized from the viewpoint of an analysis process of an analysis item of each sample. By use of information used to identify an influence range based on a kind of an abnormal state, which is stored beforehand, a judgment is made as to whether or not it is necessary to perform reinspection.

An object of the present invention is to provide an automatic analyzer which measures blank values for each vessel to reduce analysis time. The automatic analyzer comprises: a vessel for storing a sample and a reagent; a cleaning mechanism for cleaning the vessel and; an analysis mechanism for performing photometric inspection of reaction of the reagent and the sample; wherein the automatic analyzer includes a blank value comparison function for comparing a preceding blank value with a succeeding blank value. The preceding blank value is measured before photometric inspection of the reaction in the initial starting operation initially performed. The succeeding blank value is measured after photometric inspection of the reaction in the running operation subsequently performed after the initial starting operation.

In order to avoid two-way passage in a fluid channel from the inlet to a measuring section and a fluid channel from the measuring section to the outlet, the measuring section is located in the middle of the fluid channel connecting the inlet and the outlet, so that manipulation from the inlet to the outlet takes place in one direction on the substrate. Even when analyzing a large number of sample droplets, by transport of the droplets substantially in one direction, it is possible to complete measurement in a short time.

The present invention provides an index that makes it possible to use, in an automatic analyzer, an approximate expression based on a theoretical chemical reaction formula derived from reaction process data, and automatically check for apparatus abnormalities, reagent deteriorations, and improper accuracy control during each continuous or individual inspection. Reaction process data, which is measured when the automatic analyzer determines the relationship between reaction absorbance and time, is approximated to ABS = A 0 + A 1 (1-e -kt ) by the least-squares method. The resulting reaction start point absorbance A 0 , final reaction absorbance A 1 , reaction rate constant k, and residual error, which is the aggregate sum of differences between approximate values and measured values, are then used as the index of reaction status.
