Abstract: A method for controlling a hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The method comprises calculating, for a low-emission area on the vehicle's current travel , a first energy to travel the low-emission area in a first driving mode, determining whether the hybrid vehicle is capable of traveling the low-emission area in the first driving mode using current energy of a vehicle battery, and when it is determined that the hybrid vehicle is incapable of traveling the low-emission area in the first driving mode using current energy of the vehicle battery, initiating a battery charging operation before the vehicle enters the emission-restricted area.

Abstract: A hybrid electric vehicle which may maximize a driving distance in an engine clutch (130) failure situation and a method of controlling the same are disclosed. The method of controlling the hybrid electric vehicle provided with an engine clutch (130) installed between a first motor (140) and an engine (110) includes, in response to a determination (S510) that failure of the engine clutch (130) occurs, determining (S520) a state of the engine clutch just prior to the failure, in response to a determination that the state of the engine clutch just prior to the failure is an open state, driving (S550A) the first motor alone, and in response to a determination that the state of the engine clutch just prior to the failure is not the open state, starting (S530, S540, S550A, S550B, S550C) the engine.

Abstract: A hybrid vehicle, and a control method of a driving mode therefor includes steps of determining a traveling path, dividing the traveling path into a plurality of sections according to a driving condition, allocating a class corresponding to a driving condition of a corresponding section among a plurality of predetermined classes, to each of the plurality of sections, calculating energy consumption of each of the plurality of sections, sequentially summing the energy consumption of the plurality of sections in an order determined with reference to energy consumption rates for modes corresponding to the respective classes until a predetermined first condition is satisfied, and determining a first class corresponding to a section as a last target of summing when the first condition is satisfied, as a second condition and as a reference for switching from a first driving mode to a second driving mode.
