摘要:
The present invention relates to the use of nucleic acid molecules coding for a bacterial xylose isomerase (XI), preferably coming from Clostridium phytofermentans , for reaction/metabolization, particularly fermentation, of recombinant microorganisms of biomaterial containing xylose, and particularly for the production of bioalcohols, particularly bioethanol, by means of xylose fermenting yeasts. The present invention further relates to cells, particularly eukaryotic cells, which are transformed utilizing a nucleic acid expression construct which codes for a xylose isomerase, wherein the expression of the nucleic acid expression construct imparts to the cells the capability to directly isomerize xylose into xylulose. Said cells are preferably utilized for reaction/metabolization, particularly fermentation, of biomaterial containing xylose, and particularly for the production of bioalcohols, particularly bioethanol. The present invention also relates to methods for the production of bioethanol, and to methods for the production of further metabolization products, comprising the metabolization of media containing xylose.

The invention relates to novel expression cassettes and expression vectors, having three nucleic acid sequences for araA, araB and araD, each coding for a polypeptide of an L-arabinose metabolic pathway, in particular, a bacterial L-arabinose metabolic pathway. The invention particularly relates to expression cassettes and expression vectors, having codon-optimised nucleic acid sequences for araA, araB and araD. The invention further relates to host cells, in particular, modified yeast stem cells containing the expression cassettes or expression vectors and expressing the polypeptides for the L-arabinose metabolic pathway, in particular, for the bacterial L-arabinose metabolic pathway. Arabinose is more effectively fermented by these cells,in particular to give ethanol, by means of said modified host cells. The invention is amongst other things important in the production of biochemicals from biomasses such as, for example, bioethanol.
摘要:
The invention relates to a polypeptide featuring a novel specific arabinose transporter function as well as nucleic acids coding therefor. The invention further relates to host cells, particularly modified yeast strains which contain the coding nucleic acids and express the polypeptide and functionally integrate the same into the plasma membrane, thus being able to absorb L-arabinose. When using modified host cells expressing additional proteins of the arabinose metabolic pathway, arabinose can be fermented, especially into ethanol, by means of said cells. The invention is thus significant, among other things, in connection with the production of biochemicals from biomass, e.g. bioethanol.
