摘要: A data recording medium comprising, as a recording layer, a thin magnetic alloy film (2) having an axis of easy magnetization along a direction perpendicular to the surface thereof, and an anticorrosion protective layer (3) formed on the recording layer (2). This recording medium is featured in that the anticorrosion protective layer (3) is formed of a thin oxide film which is obtained by subjecting the surface portion of the recording layer (2) to an anodic oxidization. This protective layer (2) may be further covered with a dielectric film as a second protective covering.

摘要: in a reversible memory system, a pulsed laser beam generated from a laser unit is directed to a recording layer (2) formed on a substrate 1. The recording layer (2) essentially consists of a recording medium, for example, an iron-nickel alloy containing iron as a mayor component and 27 to 30 atomic % of nickel, which undergoes martensite transformation from a low-temperature phase (D) to a high-temperature phase (E) at a predetermined temperature Af and which undergoes a stress-induced transformation (a 2 ) at a characteristic temperature Md. When a region of the recording layer is irradiated with the laser beam having a predetermined intensity, the region undergoes a stress-induced transformation (a 2 ) so that the region is changed from the high temperature phase (A) to the low temperature phase (8).

摘要: A magneto-optical recording disk (10) has a transparent resinous substrate (12) with a pre-groove (14), and a metallic recording layer (20) formed above the substrate (12). A transparent adhesive layer (18) is provided between the substrate (12) and the recording layer (20), for allowing a laser beam (16) to pass therethrough, and for causing the recording layer (20) to be tightly adhered to the substrate (12) to thereby prevent the recording layer (20) from being peeled off from the substrate (12). The adhesive layer (18) is comprised of a fluorine resin material.

摘要: A rewritable magneto-optical disc comprises a substrate (10), a recording layer (14) formed on the substrate (10) and made of an amorphous alloy of rare earth transition metal elements having an axis of easy magnetization perpendicular to a substrate surface, and a protective layer (20) formed on the recording layer (14) for protection of the recording layer. The rare earth element in the recording layer (14) is Tb and the transition metal element therein is Co, and the content of Tb in the recording layer (14) falls within a range between 21 atomic % and 30 atomic %.
