A broadcast reception apparatus is provided with a reception unit for receiving broadcast data as a transport stream. The transport stream includes video data and a plurality of navigation information sequences. Each navigation information sequence includes navigation information which includes graphics data to be combined with the video data for display. A TS (Transport Stream) decoder unit extracts the video data and navigation information from the transport stream. A reception control unit controls the TS decoder unit so that the TS decoder unit extracts navigation information from a navigation information sequence which is suitable for the the broadcast reception apparatus. A navigation information storage unit stores the navigation information extracted by the TS decoder unit. A reproduction control unit combines graphics data included in the navigation information stored in the navigation information storage unit with the video data extracted by the TS decoder unit and displays a composite image of this combination. This achieves a broadcast reception apparatus which selectively uses necessary pieces of navigation information to display an image as a user interface.

An efficient parts mounting method and a parts mounter to avoid wasteful operation and time when mounting parts on a circuit board. For this parts mounter, a nozzle existence checking sensor (7) is installed at a parts mounting means (1) loaded with a suction nozzle (2). When a user carries the circuit board (3) into a circuit board supporting means (5), the nozzle existence checking sensor (7) can detect the present nozzle charge condition of the parts mounting means (1) while the parts mounting means (1) shifts to a parts disposal box (6). Moreover, unless the parts mounting means (1) is not loaded with a suction nozzle (2) required for the next parts mounting in the middle of production, the existence of the nozzle is checked in the middle of shifting to a nozzle exchanging means (8).

The production efficiency of electronic parts is improved by automatically examining the state of a defective nozzle, and efficiently and smoothly carrying out the maintenance of nozzles. An electronic part mounting method is practised by an electronic part mounting apparatus provided with an electronic part mounting means (7) having a plurality of nozzles (13) for use in clamping and mounting electronic parts (14), an image pickup means (15) for imaging an electronic part (14) clamped by a nozzle (13), and a recognition control means (16) adapted to analyse the image of the electronic part (14) and examine the clamped state of the electronic part (14). When a nozzle (13), which has made clamping errors a predetermined number of times, is judged to be a defective nozzle, the free end surface thereof is imaged by the image pickup means (15), the image is analyzed by the recognition control means (16), whereby the free end surface of the nozzle (13) is examined.
