摘要： The instant invention provides a method for raising serum HDL cholesterol levels comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an LXR ligand to a patient in need of such treatment. It further provides a method for using an LXR ligand to stimulate expression of the ABC1 gene. LXR ligands can be used for preventing and treating atherosclerosis and related conditions.

These compounds are useful in the inhibition of HIV integrase, the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, either as compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical composition ingredients, whether or not in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of treating AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described.
