摘要: There is provided a process for converting methanol and/or dimethyl ether to a product containing C2-C4 olefins which comprises the step of contacting a feed which contains methanol and/or dimethyl ether with a catalyst comprising a porous crystalline material, the contacting step being conducted in the presence of a co-fed aromatic compound under conversion conditions including a temperature of 350 to 480 °C and a methanol partial pressure in excess of 10 psia (70 kPa), the porous crystalline material having a pore size greater than the critical diameter of the aromatic compound and the aromatic compound being capable of alkylation by the methanol and/or dimethyl ether under the conversion conditions.

摘要: Bromine reactive hydrocarbon contaminants are removed from aromatic streams by first providing an aromatic feedstream having a negligible diene level. The feedstream is contacted with an acid active catalyst composition under conditions sufficient to remove mono-olefins. An aromatic stream may be pretreated to remove dienes by contacting the stream with clay, hydrogenation or hydrotreating catalyst under conditions sufficient to substantially remove dienes but not mono-olefins.

摘要: There is provided a process for the selective production of para-xylene which comprises reacting toluene with methanol in the presence of a catalyst comprising a porous crystalline material having a Diffusion Parameter for 2,2 dimethylbutane of about 0.1-15 sec-1 when measured at a temperature of 120 °C and a 2,2 dimethylbutane pressure of 60 torr (8kPa). The porous crystalline material is preferably a medium-pore zeolite, particularly ZSM-5, which has been severely steamed at a temperature of at least 950 °C. The porous crystalline material is preferably combined with at least one oxide modifier, preferably including phosphorus, to control reduction of the micropore volume of the material during the steaming step.

摘要: This invention is a process for the upgrading of distillate feeds. A batch of supported hydroprocessing catalyst is placed in a reaction zone, which is usually a fixed bed reactor. The hydroprocessing catalyst comprises an effective amount of a noble metal or metals and has a specific activity. Both low aromatic diesel and jet fuel may be produced in separate blocks over the same catalyst batch, using different feeds and often different conditions. The activity of the catalyst is restored each time the feed is switched. When production is switched from jet fuel to low aromatics diesel, activity may be regained more quickly by holding the catalyst at a higher temperature than the reaction temperature for a specific period of time prior to dropping the temperature to the reaction temperature. Switching from one feed to the other may continue for about one year before the catalyst batch is changed. A dual catalyst system may alternatively be employed. In this case a hydroprocessing catalyst batch comprising an effective amount of at least one base metal is used in combination with the catalyst comprising an effective amount of at least one noble metal catalyst. The feed contacts the catalyst comprising the base metal before it contacts the catalyst comprising a noble metal. In a dual catalyst system, the feeds may be switched for about two years over the two catalyst batches before fresh catalyst is necessary.

摘要: A process is described for increasing the efficiency of para-xylene production using a two stage isomerization sequence. In the first stage of the process, a C9+ aromatics feedstock is subjected to ethylbenzene conversion and xylene isomerization. Non-C¿8? aromatics are removed from the effluent, which is then processed in a second stage of the process to remove para-xylene and isomerize the para-xylene depleted effluent. The effluent from the second stage isomerization unit is then recycled into the inlet of the second stage of the process and a slip stream from the para-xylene separator is recycled to the feedstock and to the effluent of the ethylbenzene conversion unit. In this way, the production of para-xylene is maximized. In a preferred embodiment, toluene is co-fed into the feedstock to minimize the loss of xylenes during the ethylbenzene conversion reaction.

摘要: There are provided a catalyst and a process for converting methanol or dimethyl ether to a product containing C2 to C4 olefins. The catalyst comprises a porous crystalline material having a Diffusion Parameter for 2,2-dimethylbutane of 0.1-20 sec-1 when measured at a temperature of 120 °C and a 2,2-dimethylbutane pressure of 60 torr (8kPa). In addition, the catalyst is characterized by a hydrothermal stability such that, after steaming the catalyst at 1025 °C for 45 minutes in 1 atmosphere steam, the catalyst exhibits a methanol conversion activity of at least 50 % when contacted with methanol at a methanol partial pressure of 1 atmosphere, a temperature of 430 °C and 0.5 WHSV. The porous crystalline material is preferably a medium-pore zeolite, particularly ZSM-5, which contains phosphorus and has been severely steamed at a temperature of at least 950 °C.
