The movable contact parts are mounted on a contact bridge which is mounted in a contact carrier, connected to a push rod, so as to move against the pressure of a compression spring mounted in the contact carrier. The push rod with the contact carrier is coupled for movement with the armature of the switching device switching magnet. The striking pin of the instantaneous release device acts on the contact bridge in order to lift the movable contact parts off the fixed contact parts. In the release state of the instantaneous release device the striking pin thereof can be clamped to the push rod bearing the movable contacts and can be detached by the lifting movement of the push rod, whereby the contacts can be closed again.
