Abstract:
Disclosed is a fluororubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a peroxide-crosslinkable tetrafluoroethylene-vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropene ternary copolymer rubber having a fluorine content of 64 wt.% or more, (A) 5 to 90 parts by weight of carbon black having a specific surface area of 5 to 20 m 2 /g, (B) 5 to 40 parts by weight of a fine bituminous powder, (C) at least one of 1 to 30 parts by weight of hydrophilicity-imparted talc and 1 to 20 parts by weight of hydrophilicity-imparted clay, and (D) 0.5 to 6 parts by weight of an organic peroxide; the fluororubber composition being used as a molding material for fuel oil sealing materials to be in contact with fuel oil. The fluororubber composition provides a sealing materials having excellent metal corrosion resistance, without compounding an acid acceptor comprising a metal oxide.
Abstract:
A hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition capable of providing a cross-linked product having a 20% modulus of 10 MPa or more and a thermal conductivity of 0.4 W/m . K or more at 25 DEG C, which comprises 100 parts by weight of hydrogenated nitrile rubber having a bound acrylonitrile content of 40% or more, a polymer Mooney viscosity ML1+4 (100 DEG C) of 75 or less (median) according to JIS K-6395 and iodine value of 23 or less (median), and not less than 110 parts by weight in sum total as a filler consisting of carbon black and other gas shielding fillers, can be effectively used as a molding material for sliding application or for a static sealing member for highly permeable gas, because of distinguished carbon dioxide gas shieldability, heat resistance, wear characteristics, etc.
Abstract:
A hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition highly loaded with carbon fibers. The composition is free from troubles concerning suitability for kneading and moldability, has improved wearing resistance, and is hence suitable for use as, e.g., a molding material for sealing materials. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a hydrogenated nitrile rubber having a combined acrylonitrile content of 30% or higher, a Mooney viscosity ML1+4 (100°C) (in accordance with JIS K6395) of 80 or lower (center value), and an iodine value of 28 or lower (center value) and, compounded therewith, 65 to 200 parts by weight of carbon fibers.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an EPDM composition for molding sealing materials, containing a plasticizer; the plasticizer being a paraffinic oil or naphthenic oil in which the absolute value of the difference between its SP value (solubility parameter; determined by Small's formula) and the SP value of EPDM is 0.3 (cal/cm 3 ) 1/2 or less; and the composition being free of an ether ester plasticizer. The EPDM composition for molding sealing materials has the following excellent effects. Because a paraffinic oil or naphthenic oil that is compatible with EPDM and has an absolute value of the difference between its SP value and the SP value of EPDM of 0.3 (cal/cm 3 ) 1/2 or less is used as the plasticizer, a peroxide crosslinked product of the EPDM composition does not form defects that cause the starting point of blisters even when it is subjected to extraction by being brought into contact with HFO-1234yf. Accordingly, the peroxide crosslinked product, when used as a sealing material, particularly a compressor sealing material, exhibits excellent blister resistance to a hydrofluoroolefin refrigerant, such as HFO-1234yf.
