    摘要: The invention relates to a packet radio system and a method using SDMA for channel establishment. The packet radio system comprises a network part (100), at least one subscriber terminal (102) and a duplex radio connection (104) between the network part (100) and a subscriber terminal (102). The duplex radio connection (104) is used for connection set-up and packet transmission. The invention is characterized in that for connection set-up the network part (100) and the subscriber terminal (102) are arranged to establish a special channel (210) with a significantly longer range than that of a normal channel (200). The special channel (210) has a bit energy-to-noise ratio of about 5-12 dB better than the normal channel (200).

    摘要: The present invention relates to a connection establishment method and a radio system. When a base station (11) detects a preamble (20) from a subscriber terminal equipment (13), the power adjustment of a closed loop is started for controlling the transmission power of the subscriber terminal equipment (13). Signals (15) of the base station (11) and the subscriber terminal equipment (13) are synchronized and the subscriber terminal equipment (13) sends a randomly selected identifier. The identifier determines a transit channel to which the subscriber terminal equipment (13) suggests to move. The base station (11) may change the suggested transit channel and echo the identifier back to the subscriber terminal equipment (13), and the base station (11) and the subscriber terminal equipment (13) communicate on the transit channel from which they move to a traffic channel. The inventive method accelerates connection establishment.

    摘要: The invention relates to a data transmission method in a TDMA mobile communication system. In a mobile communication system employing a so-called multi-slot access technique, one or more time-slots may be allocated to a mobile station for data transmission at the data transfer rate required by an application using the mobile station. In the invention, upon establishing a data call, the mobile station (MS) indicates the mobile communication network (BTS, BSC, MSC) the minimum and the maximum requirements for the user data transfer rate (Set Up). The mobile communication network assigns the mobile station (MS) for a data call a channel configuration, depending on the network resources currently available in the mobile communication network and enabling a data transfer rate which is between the minimum requirement and the maximum requirement.
