    摘要: The invention thus relates to an apparatus for recording an information signal on a record carrier (1). The record carrier has a first and a second tracking signal (S1, S2) of specific frequencies and wavelengths (L) recorded in respective first and second tracks (T1, T2) running parallel to each other in their longitudinal direction on the record carrier. The apparatus is provided with means (30) for receiving the information signal, means (32) for converting the information signal into a channel signal, the channel signal comprising subsequent signal blocks (SBi) of information, each signal block comprising a portion of the information signal, means (34) for writing the channel signal in a third track (Ta) on the record carrier and reading at least one of the first and second tracking signals from said first and second tracks, generating means (38) for generating a control signal from the at least one of the first and second tracking signals read from the record carrier. The apparatus in accordance with the invention is adapted to record the information signal in the record carrier in such a way that the length of a signal block of the channel signal, when recorded in the third track, equals an integer number of the wavelength of said one of the first and the second tracking signals.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for recording a binary signal onto a magnetic record carrier (45). The binary signal is supplied to an input terminal (30). The apparatus comprise generators (38.1 to 38.4) for generating at least two write pulses (P1, P2) for each bit of the binary signal to be written. More specifically, the generators are adapted to (i) generate at least two write pulses of a third polarity (P1, P2) for the first bit of the first polarity in the first sequence, (ii) generating a write pulse of the third polarity and a write pulse of a fourth polarity (P3, P4) for the at least second bit of the first polarity occurring in the first sequence, the third polarity being opposite to the fourth polarity, (iii) generating at least two write pulses of the fourth polarity (P7, P8) for the first bit of the second polarity in the second sequence, (iv) generating a write pulse of the third polarity and a write pulse of the fourth polarity (P3', P4') for the at least second bit of the second polarity occurring in the second sequence.

    摘要: The system comprises a magnetic tape (10), a magnetic-head unit (20) and an actuator (40). The magnetic tape (10) has servo tracks (11-19) containing servo signals. The servo signals have been written with a magnetic head, not shown, having a comparatively large gap length. As a result, the servo signals are recorded deep into the magnetic tape (10). The magnetic-head unit (20) comprises a read head (21) and a write head (22) to inscribe the track (63), the read head following a bounding line (13a) between adjacent servo tracks (13 and 14) in response to the servo signals read from said servo tracks (13 and 14) by the read head (21). The system in accordance with the invention is characterized in that it comprises control means which determine the sequence in which the information tracks (61-68) are written, the read head (21) either following a track (61 or 63) between two respective non-overwritten parts (60 and 62 or 62 and 64) of the magnetic tape (10), or following a track (62 or 64) between two respective overwritten parts (61 and 63 or 63 and 65) of the magnetic tape (10).
