The invention relates to a method for the stabilisation of voltage in a power supply system, especially in a vehicle electrical distribution system, which is fed by a battery (1) and a generator (2). When the battery is weak or completely empty, the connection of a new user (3,4,5) can lead to a voltage dip in the system. According to the invention, in order to prevent said voltage dip, a momentarily unused auxiliary consumer (3) is connected. If a new consumer (4) is connected, the auxiliary connected consumer (3) is automatically disconnected and the surplus power is re-directed to the new consumer (4).

The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a vehicle drive unit. According to said method the control functions for the power of the drive unit and the monitoring of said control functions are carried out by a single microcomputer. A monitoring module separated from the microcomputer is provided to check the monitoring functions and send test signals to the microcomputer at a given time. Said microcomputer subsequently calculates the monitoring function of interest on the basis of test data. The result of the calculation is transmitted to the monitoring module which checks the operation capacity of the function monitoring system in the microcomputer by comparing it with stored values.

The invention relates to a method for controlling and regulating combustion in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. According to said method at least one knock sensor detects a cylinder-specific knock signal for each individual cylinder of the internal combustion engine, the knock signal detected in this manner is transmitted to an evaluation circuit which from the knock signal detected reconstructs the combustion chamber pressure profile and said combustion chamber pressure profile is analysed for the purpose of controlling and regulating the next combustion in the cylinder concerned.
