The method further comprises: -measurement (2) of an output voltage between the earth and a point (P) located between the resistance (R) of known value and the capacitance (CE); -determination (3) of a complex impedance of a dipole consisting of the capacitance (CE) and the insulation resistance (Risol) or determination of the parameters of a differential equation; and -determination (4) of the insulation resistance (Risol) from the parameters of the differential equation or said complex impedance.
