The subject of the invention is a method for the synthesis of zeolites, comprising the following steps: a) providing a silicon source; b) providing an aluminium source; c) optionally providing at least one template; d) mixing the silicon source, aluminium source and optional template in order to produce a synthesis gel; e) grinding the synthesis gel; f) treating the ground synthesis gel under hydrothermal conditions in order to produce crystalline zeolite, as well as zeolites that can be obtained according to this method. The products obtained according to the method can be used as catalysts or catalyst supports.

The invention relates to a novel catalyst based on zeolite, and the use of said catalyst in a method for producing lower olefins from oxygenates and in a method for oligomerizing olefins. The novel catalyst has a SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 weight ratio of 2 to 9, a BET surface of 250 to 500 m 2 /g, and an Na content under 200 ppm, said catalyst comprising a crystalline alumosilicate zeolite and a binder. What is described is a process for producing a catalyst based on crystalline aluminosilicate of the pentasil type, comprising steps (a) treatment of aluminum oxide hydrate with an aqueous acid-containing medium, (b) mixing of the aluminum oxide hydrate treated with aqueous acid-containing medium from step (a) with an H zeolite and (c) calcination of the mixture obtained in step (b). Additionally disclosed is a catalyst which is obtained by such a process, and the use thereof in CMO and OTO processes.
