The powdered and the liquid component are mixed, a flowable slip is produced, which is used, once dried, solidified and sintered, to produce a hollow mold.

The invention relates to a method for producing ceramic and/or metal components, in which a supporting structure which encloses at least one free space is formed using a polymer, and in which at least one free space is filled at least in a predefinable region with a plastically deformable or liquid mixture of at least one metal powder or ceramic powder and at least one organic binder. The mixture bears at least partially against the wall of the supporting structure. Then, during a first heat treatment, the mixture is transformed into a state having sufficient rigidity to maintain the geometric shape thereof and a temperature is maintained at which the polymer forming the supporting structure remains shape-stable. Then, during a second heat treatment, the temperature is increased and thereby the polymer forming the supporting structure is completely disintegrated and the metal powder and/or ceramic powder is sintered.

The invention relates to the area of ceramics and to a ceramic flat membrane which is configured as a multi-channel element. The aim of the invention is to provide a ceramic flat membrane with a larger effective membrane surface. To this end, the inventive ceramic flat membrane consists of at least two layers of at least two sub-layers of different porosity, at least one of these layers having a non-planar geometry. The two layers are joined to each other with at least spot joins and integral joins. The invention also provides a method for producing a flat membrane of this type. According to this method, suspensions are produced from at least two ceramic powders of different particle size. Two sub-layers are formed from said suspensions, then dried and joined to form one layer. At least one layer which is embossed and sintered or unsintered is joined to a non-embossed, similarly embossed, differently embossed or differently structured, sintered or unsintered layer with at least spot joins and integral joins to form a flat membrane.

The invention relates to the fields of ceramics and metallurgy and pertains to a process for producing refractory materials based on a SiAION/C or SiAlON/SiC/C composite. The aim of the invention is to indicate a process that prevents increased porosity due to the reaction of the carbon with the oxide or nitride phases of the material. This is accomplished by the invention through a process for producing refractory materials characterized in that to produce a refractory material with SiAlON and carbon, a mixture containing silicon, aluminum, aluminum oxide and carbon is heated in a predominantly nitrogen-containing atmosphere in three stages up to a maximum temperature of 2200 °C and that to produce a refractory material with SiAlON/SiC and carbon, the mixture may contain silicon carbide as well and the mixture is heated in a predominantly nitrogen-containing atmosphere in two stages to a maximum temperature of 2200 °C.

The invention relates to the field of ceramics and to composite shaped bodies that can be used, for example, for chip removing tools. The aim of the invention is to provide composite shaped bodies that have a free structure on their top surface and delimiting surface and that can be produced in series. Said aim is achieved in that the ceramic and/or power-metallurgical composite shaped bodies are made of a green sheet and an injection moulded body. Said aim is further achieved, according to the invention, in that a green sheet is incorporated into or applied to a mould, subsequently, at least one ceramic and/or powder-metallurgical injection moulding mass is applied to and/or placed on and/or incorporated on and/or in the mould by means of injection moulding, and subsequently, the mould having one or several parts is removed and/or the one or multi-part composite shaped bodies are removed from the mould. The invention relates to a glow plug and methods for the production thereof. According to the invention, said glow plug is made from an electrically conducting and an electrically nonconducting element, sintered composite ceramic material being used for the production thereof. The disclosed glow plugs can preferably be used for fuel-operated auxiliary heaters of motor vehicles. The aim of the invention is to be able to produce said glow plugs in an inexpensive and flexible manner while providing the same with a longer service life and greater resistance to oxidation. Said aim is achieved by surrounding two opposite sides of the conducting element with the electrically nonconducting element while providing the conducting element with an expanded cross-section in the distal area, the ratio of the expanded cross-section to the cross-section of the electrically conducting element ranging between 2.5 and 5 to 1. Sixty to 85 percent of the surface of the proximal heating area of the electrically conducting element, which has a reduced cross-section, are covered by the material of the electrically nonconducting element.
