The invention relates to a switching device for an electrically driven vehicle (10), in particular a track vehicle, having a switch unit (28) that is provided for respectively connecting and disconnecting a vehicle drive unit (14) to and from an electrical supply line (20) carrying high voltage and has at least two switch contacts (30, 32), a drive unit (36) that is provided for driving a relative movement of the switch contacts (30, 32) with respect to one another, and a housing unit (62) at least for receiving the switch unit (28) and the drive unit (36), wherein the housing unit (62) comprises a support (48) for supporting at least the switch unit (28). According to the invention, in order to provide a generic switch device for which a compact construction can be achieved, the switch unit (28) is arranged in a lying position relative to the support (48).

It can thus be guaranteed that in a commonly supported transmission method that a connection occurs in which the DTMF signal tones can be transmitted.

The invention relates to a method for transmitting the subscriber signaling of an analog connection of the public telephone network in an IP network, which is connected to said public telephone network via a media gateway. According to said method, FSK signals are used for the subscriber signaling in the public telephone network and said signals are transmitted in the IP network in the media gateway control protocol, which is modified by a 'signal requests parameter'.

The invention relates to a method and a control device (MGC) for requesting e-mail related information from an e-mail server (Mserv), using a telephone (POTS-T). An entry via the telephone (POTS-T) prompts a connection between the control device (MGC) and the e-mail server (Mserv) to be established and also the transmission of the requested information from the e-mail server (Mserv) to the control device (MGC), e.g. a media gateway controller. The requested information is transmitted to the telephone (POTS-T) and displayed on the latter by the control device (MGC). The invention permits access to e-mail messages using various types of telephone, such as e.g. an analog telephone, (POTS-T), an ISDN telephone (ISDN-T) and a mobile telephone (GSM-T). The availability of information in the form of e-mail is thus increased. The invention also permits more flexible access to e-mail information in situations where an internet terminal is lacking.
