The invention concerns an elastomeric composition based on at least an isoprene elastomer, a reinforcing inorganic filler and, as coupling agent (inorganic filler/isoprene elastomer), a citraconimido-alkoxysilane, in particular a N-[(alkyl(C1-C3)-alkoxy(C1-C3)silyl)]-citracominide. The isoprene elastomer is in particular natural rubber and the reinforcing inorganic filler is a siliceous or aluminous filler of the highly dispersible type. The invention also concerns a method for preparing such a composition. The invention further concerns the use of said composition for making tyres or semi-finished products for tyres, in particular running treads for heavy vehicle tyres.
