The subject invention is directed to an olefin polymer produced by polymerizing at least one α-olefin in the presence of a Group 4 metal complex comprising an indenyl group substituted in the 2 or 3 position with at least one group selected from hydrocarbyl, perfluoro-substituted hydrocarbyl, silyl, germyl and mixtures thereof, said indenyl group further being covalently bonded to the metal by means of a divalent ligand group, wherein the divalent ligand comprises nitrogen or phosphorus having an aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarby group covalently bonded thereto via a primary or secondary carbon. Preferred olefin polymers of the invention will be characterized as having a high molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, high vinyl content, and a bimodal DSC melting curve or a deconvoluted ATREF or GPC curve which shows at least two distinct narrow peaks. The olefin polymer will have utiliity in a variety of applications, including but not limited to films, fibers, foams, molded parts, and as components of formulations such as adhesives, sealants, coatings, caulks, and asphalt.

Flexible gaskets are formed from blends of ethylene/α-olefin interpolymers which contain long chain branching and that possess improved processability as well as low temperature resistance and resistance to staining and attack by microbes. Such gaskets do not require formulation other than the addition of color, to produce a functional product. The gaskets of the present invention do not impact negatively on the environment and are also relatively inexpensive to produce.

The present invention discloses a cable comprising a layer of a polyethylene composition characterized in that the polyethylene composition comprises: (A) from 5 percent to 95 percent by weight of the total composition of at least one first polymer which is an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer having: (i) a density from 0.865 g/cm3 to 0.95 g/cm3, (ii) a molecular weight distribution (M¿w?/Mn) from 1.8 to 3.5, (iii) a melt index (I2) from 0.001 g/10 min. to 10 g/10 min., and (iv) a CBDI greater than 50 percent, (B) from 5 percent to 95 percent by weight of the total composition of at least one second polymer which is a heterogeneously branched ethylene polymer or homogeneously branched ethylene homopolymer having a density from 0.9 g/cm?3¿ to 0.965 g/cm3. The cable of the present invention has superior mechanical properties and processability relative to conventional cable using current polymers such as low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), and polyvinylchloride (PVC).

This invention pertains to a sealant film composition comprising at least two ethylene polymer component materials. One aspect of the invention relates to a multilayer structure having balanced sealant properties and comprising a sealant layer and a polypropylene layer, wherein the sealant layer comprises and is made from a polymer composition having particular molecular weight characteristics and a second ethylene polymer. A preferred embodiment of the present invention pertains to a medium density polyolefinic film and composition characterized by an excellent balance of a low seal initiation temperature and improved film modulus. The film and composition is comprised of and made from at least one lower density homogeneously branched ethylene polymer and at least one higher density heterogeneously or homogeneously branched ethylene polymer. The invention is particularly useful in those applications requiring fast seal times and good packaging dimensional stability such as, for example, cook-in packaging, hot-fill packaging, flowable material pouches, compression fill packaging, shrink film packaging and barrier shrink film packaging as well as biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film structures.
