The method further includes establishing a correlation between the determined first level of coverage and the stored measurement data and updating statistical data based on the established correlation. The method further includes determining whether the wireless device is a suitable candidate for handover to the target cell for load balancing reasons, based on the updated statistical data.

The method performed by the network node includes determining a load level out of a set of predefined load levels based on a current load of the network node, where each load level corresponds to an estimated capability of the network node to handle signaling from at least one network control node. The method further includes indicating the determined load level to at least one network control node, thus enabling the at least one network control node to apply a signaling handling scheme towards the network node based on the indicated load level.

The present disclosure relates to methods and network nodes of supporting load distribution from a source cell to a target cell in a wireless network using carrier aggregation. When performed in the source network node, the method comprises determining (S31) source traffic load and carrier aggregation properties of the cell source cell and receiving (S32), from a target network node, a load report comprising target traffic load and carrier aggregation properties for the target cell. Carrier aggregation capabilities of user equipments, UEs, served by the source cell are retrieved in the source network node. One or more UEs served by the source cell are selected (S33) for moving to the target cell based on a combination of the retrieved UE carrier aggregation capabilities and the carrier aggregation properties of the source cell and target cell.
