摘要: A system may include an energy provision system, a first converter, a second converter, a traction system, and an auxiliary system. The energy provision system may provide a first voltage. The first converter may increase the first voltage from the energy provision system from the first voltage into at least a second voltage. The traction system of a vehicle may be powered by the second voltage from the first converter. The second converter may decrease the first voltage from the energy provision system from the first voltage to a third voltage which may be less than the second voltage. The auxiliary system of the vehicle may be powered by the third voltage from the second converter that may be less than the second voltage.

摘要: A system and method detect and manage conductive gaps between collector devices onboard vehicles and conductive pathways extending along routes traveled by the vehicles. The collector devices are conductively couplable to the conductive pathways. The system and method respond to a detected drop in an amount of electric current being conducted from the conductive pathway to the collector device of a vehicle with a responsive action prior to or during a subsequent drop in voltage being conducted from the conductive pathway to the collector device.

摘要: Systems and methods for controlling operation of a vehicle system (102) are provided. This vehicle system (102) can be at least partially powered by electric current conducted to a collector device (112) of the vehicle system (102) from a conductive pathway (108) extending along a route (110) traveled by the vehicle system (102). A voltage level of the conductive pathway (108) may be monitored, and a conduction impaired location (114) of the conductive pathway (108) may be identified based at least in part on the voltage level of the conductive pathway (108) that is monitored. The collector device (112) or a removal device (220) may be controlled to remove a contaminant from the conductive pathway (108) at the conduction impaired location (114), the vehicle system (102) may be controlled to compensate for the conduction impaired location (114), and/or an off-board facility (122) and/or another vehicle system (102) may be notified of the conduction impaired location (114) responsive to identifying the conduction impaired location (114).
