    摘要: An improved car mounted brake assembly (10) is provided wherein the brake assembly includes a brake cylinder (52), a slack adjuster (54) and a pair of brake beams (22,24) mounted at each end of the car mounted brake assembly and actuated by the brake cylinder via a series of levers and linkages and wherein the improvement comprises a suspension system for suspending each of the brake beams within a corresponding railway vehicle truck arrangement. Each of the brake beams have a brake head (30) attachable to each end thereof and each of the brake heads carries a brake shoe (32) thereon which is positioned for engagement with a respective railway vehicle wheel during a brake application. The railway vehicle truck arrangement within which the brake beams are suspended includes a pair of truck side frames (12) and a truck bolster member (16). The suspension system (33,34,35) comprises a first device pivotally connected at a first end thereof with a predetermined portion of the railway vehicle truck arrangement and pivotally connected at a second end thereof to a predetermined portion of the car mounted brake assembly for suspending the pair of brake beams in the railway vehicle truck arrangement. The suspension system also includes a second device having at least a portion thereof connected with the car mounted brake assembly for maintaining each of the brake beams in a predetermined plane during application and release of the railway vehicle brake assembly.

    摘要: An improved car mounted brake assembly (10) is provided wherein the brake assembly includes a brake cylinder (52), a slack adjuster (54) and a pair of brake beams (22,24) mounted at each end of the car mounted brake assembly and actuated by the brake cylinder via a series of levers and linkages and wherein the improvement comprises a suspension system for suspending each of the brake beams within a corresponding railway vehicle truck arrangement. Each of the brake beams have a brake head (30) attachable to each end thereof and each of the brake heads carries a brake shoe (32) thereon which is positioned for engagement with a respective railway vehicle wheel during a brake application. The railway vehicle truck arrangement within which the brake beams are suspended includes a pair of truck side frames (12) and a truck bolster member (16). The suspension system (33,34,35) comprises a first device pivotally connected at a first end thereof with a predetermined portion of the railway vehicle truck arrangement and pivotally connected at a second end thereof to a predetermined portion of the car mounted brake assembly for suspending the pair of brake beams in the railway vehicle truck arrangement. The suspension system also includes a second device having at least a portion thereof connected with the car mounted brake assembly for maintaining each of the brake beams in a predetermined plane during application and release of the railway vehicle brake assembly.

    摘要: A pressure actuated force transmitting cylinder (10) includes a housing member having first and second elongated portions (14,20). An end cap (16) closes one end of the housing in a fluid tight manner. A connection is formed through such first portion for communicating fluid to such cylinder. A clutch (50) having a first clutch surface(39) is disposed on such housing and a piston-like member is disposed for reciprocal movement in such housing. A seal (60) disposed around a peripheral portion (16) of such piston-like member (43) provides a chamber (48) to receive such fluid being communicated to such cylinder therein and cause a linear displacement of such piston-like member. An elongated rod-like member (64), having a threaded portion (70), is connected to such piston-like member. A threaded nut member (72) is threadedly engaged with such threaded portion. A trigger mechanism (76) is disposed around a portion of such rod-like member adjacent such nut member. A disc-like member (82) is disposed around such trigger. A first race assembly (86) is abuttingly engaged with a flat surface (89) formed on such nut member and a second race (90) assembly is abuttingly engaged with another flat surface (94) formed on such nut member. Such first and second race assemblies permit rotation of such nut member on such threaded portion. Finally a first urging mechanism (100), in combination with fluid communicated to such cylinder, urges such second clutch surface away from such first clutch surface and a second urging mechanism (104) overcomes such first mechanism and urges such second clutch surface into engagement with such first clutch surface when pressure is absent in such cylinder.

Setting a pair of radially opposed locking wedge members (1) on such at least one crushable support member (7). Securing the locking wedge members (1) to such at least one crushable support member (7) and the carrier plate (2) without distorting such at least one crushable support member (7). Then, positioning this assembly into such end portion of such center sill member and securing it thereto. Thereafter, tightening the locking wedge members (1) in place until all slack has been removed from such slackless drawbar assembly (6) thereby crushing and flattening at least one of the crushable support member (7).
