    摘要: A structural improvement for microwave-assisted high temperature highpressure chemistry vessel systems is disclosed that among other advantages offers dynamic venting and resealing while a reaction proceeds and eliminates the risk of cross contamination associated with systems that use a common pressurized chamber. The improvement includes a relatively thin-walled disposable liner cylinder that includes one closed end and one open end defining a mouth, and a liner cap positioned in the mouth of the rigid liner cylinder for closing the rigid liner cylinder. The liner cap includes a depending column that engages the inside diameter of the rigid liner cylinder, and a disk at one end of the depending column having a diameter sufficient to rest upon the rigid liner cylinder without falling into the rigid cylinder liner so that the cylindrical liner cap can rest in the rigid liner cylinder at the mouth of the rigid liner cylinder. The depending column, includes a passage to provide a gas venting space, and a dynamic venting action, between the liner cap and the rigid liner cylinder.

The rapid analyzer can be used in conjunction with a kit that includes a sample cup for mixing a protein sample with a dye-binding solution and a filter holder for being positioned in the sample cup. The filter holder includes a filter media and a depending spout below the filter media that reaches bottom portions of the cup when the filter media is positioned above the cup. The kit can also include dye concentrate solution.

    摘要: Apparatus for determining the fat and oil content of a sample comprises a pliable, porous, hydrophilic and lipophillic sample pad (63), formed of glass fibres or quartz fibres and substantially transparent to microwave radiation. The sample is placed on the sample pad which in turn is placed on a wrapper (62) of sheet material that is non-porous to fats, oils and other liquids and is free of atoms that would interfere with or mask the NMR response in said analyser of the protons in fats and oils, said wrapper being large enough to wrap said sample pad with a sample thereon but small enough to fit within the sample field portion of an NMR analyser (36) when wrapped around the sample pad. The apparatus further includes a source (20) of microwave radiation for drying the sample, a cavity (24) in wave communication with said microwave source for receiving the sample and sample pad and a balance (28) with at least its pan inside cavity for weighing the sample and sample pad.
