摘要: A target tire pressure learning method wherein tire pressure is ascertained via a central pressure sensor. The method of learning a target tire pressure for a tire maintained by a tire pressure maintenance system, having conduit assemblies for conducting fluid to and/or from the tire and a pressure sensor for ascertaining fluid pressure in the conduit assemblies, according to the invention includes ascertaining a current tire pressure with the pressure sensor and designating the current tire pressure as a target tire pressure.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a complementary regenerative torque system for a vehicle including an engine with an accelerator pedal position sensor. The regenerative torque system selectively stores and supplies energy to the drive train of the vehicle to provide on demand complementary torque. The regenerative torque system may be hydraulic or electric in nature and may be disposed upstream or downstream of the transmission relative to the engine. A regenerative torque control module is disposed between the accelerator pedal position sensor and the engine control module and intercepts the accelerator pedal position signal and modifies it in response to the mode of operation of the regenerative torque system and forwards the modified throttle signal to the engine control module. Likewise, the regenerative torque control module intercepts and modifies signals from the engine control module prior to broadcasting them to the rest of the vehicle’s control modules.

摘要: A method of inflating a tire, or vehicle tire, that minimizes the amount of time needed for same is disclosed. The method of inflating a tire with a tire pressure management system includes introducing continuous fluid flow of a fluid into the tire, ascertaining the dynamic pressure of the fluid during said introducing continuous fluid flow, terminating continuous fluid flow when the dynamic pressure exceeds or equals a predetermined amount, and introducing pulsed fluid flow of the fluid into the tire.

摘要: The present invention is a method for casting a part having a complex shape or having a complex shape thereon. The method includes providing a pattern and securing at least one core to the pattern. A conformable material is located about the pattern and the core to create a complementary shape to the pattern and core in the conformable material. The pattern is removed and the core is left behind in the conformable material. The core leaves space, or an empty form, for a negative draw that cannot be formed in known casting methods. A mold is located adjacent the shaped, conformable material. A hardenable material is located between the mold and the shaped, conformable material and into the core. The hardenable material is allowed to harden and then it is removed. A cast part having a complex shape, or having a complex shape integrally formed with the part, results.

摘要: A method of coupling tubular bodies (12A,14A) is provided, particularly for use in fluid handling systems requiring a fluid-tight, pressurized joint. One tubular body (12A) is made from a polymer. The other tubular body (14A) is formed as a laminate having a metallic layer (34) and a polymeric layer (36) (e.g., nylon coated aluminum tubing). The tubular bodies (12A,14A) are positioned relative to one another (e.g., the laminated tubular body (14A) may be inserted within the polymeric tubular body (12A) when the polymeric layer (36) of the laminated tubular body (14A) is outward of the metallic layer (34). The tubular bodies (12A,14A) are then joined together by induction welding to cause heat transfer from the laminated tubular body's (14A) metallic layer (34) to its polymeric layer (36) thereby resulting in deformation of the polymeric layer (36) and bonding of the polymeric layer (36) to a surface of the polymeric tubular body (12A), forming the joint (68).
