In one embodiment, a communication frame is generated and includes a synchronization section, and at least two data sections and at least two preamble sections. A receiver synchronizes with a transmitter using the synchronization section, and may also re-synchronize with the transmitter using at least one preamble section. In another embodiment, the length of the data sections are selected to ensure that drift between the receiver and transmitter will be minimal before re-synchronization. Additional embodiments of the invention may employ ultra-wideband communication technology.     摘要: A mobile communications network comprises a radio network part including a plurality of base stations for communicating data to or from mobile communications devices, and a core network part which includes a plurality of infrastructure equipment. The infrastructure equipment is configured to communicate the data packets to and receive the data packets from the mobile communications devices via the radio network part. One of the infrastructure equipment of the core network includes a bearer controller, which is configured to identify data packets which have been received by the infrastructure equipment for communication to one of the mobile communications devices, to determine a traffic profile of the received data packets from one of a predetermined set of possible traffic profiles of the received data packets which are to be communicated to the mobile communications device, and to select one of a plurality of different bearer types to communicate the data packets to the mobile communications device in accordance with the determined traffic profile of the received data packets. The bearer controller is thereby arranged to identify a most appropriate communications bearer for communicating the data packets to a mobile communications device based on an observed traffic profile of the data packets to be communicated, to make efficient use of available communications resources.
