摘要: A signal representative of a patient's respiration is split into equal length epochs. A primary feature is extracted from each epoch that acts as a compressed representation of the signal events. Statistics are applied to the primary feature to produce one or more secondary features that represent the entire epoch. Each secondary feature is grouped with one or more other features that are extracted from the entire epoch rather than selected epoch events. This grouping is the epoch pattern. The pattern is manipulated with suitable classifier algorithm to produce a probability for each class within the algorithm, that the signal may be representative of a disease state (Cheyne-Stokes, OSA etc). The epoch is assigned to the class with the highest probability. Also defined are methods of detecting Cheyne-Stokes breathing by analysing a signal to detect one or regions of hyperpnoea and if the length of a hyperpnoea exceeds a parameter, Cheyne-Stokes is present.

摘要: An apparatus for providing positive airway pressure, comprising a blower configured to provide pressurized air to a patient interface, a controller configured to control an air pressure provided by the blower at a first therapeutic pressure treatment level during a first treatment session, detect the occurrence of sleep disordered breathing (SDB) events during the first treatment session, and adjust the first therapeutic pressure treatment level in response to the detected SDB events during the first treatment session, in a setting procedure, determine a second generally constant therapeutic pressure treatment level to be provided in a second treatment session, the second treatment session being subsequent to the first treatment session, the second generally constant therapeutic pressure treatment level being determined based on checking of a clock and the sleep disordered breathing (SDB) events detected from the first treatment session, and maintain the air pressure at the second generally constant therapeutic pressure treatment level without changing the therapeutic pressure treatment level during the second treatment session, and wherein the first treatment session comprises at least one sleep session and the second treatment session comprises a different sleep session.

摘要: Apparatus and methods provide control for generation of a flow of air to a patient's airways for different respiratory therapies. The pressure and a flow rate may be simultaneously controlled so as to provide a pressure therapy and a flow therapy. The system may include one or more flow generators, in which the control of the pressure and flow rate may include altering the output of one or more of the flow generators and/or an optional adjustable vent. The pressure and flow rate may each be held at a constant. One or both of the pressure and flow rate may also vary in accordance with a desired therapy. The air may be provided via a patient interface that includes a vent to atmosphere, which may be the adjustable vent. The vent may be actuated by a controller to implement the simultaneous control of pressure and flow rate of the air.

摘要: A humidifier (14) for humidifying a flow of breathable gas to be delivered to a patient includes a chamber (16) configured to receive the flow of breathable gas; a tub (20) configured to contain a supply of water, the tub being configured to be inserted into the chamber; a lid (18) provided on the chamber and being movable between an open position and a closed position; and a seal (19) provided on the lid, the seal being configured to seal the chamber such that the flow of breathable gas pressurizes the chamber. The humidifier may be connectable to a flow generator (12) configured to generate the flow of breathable gas. A tube for delivering the humidified flow may be connected to the humidifier. The tube may be a heated or non-heated tube. A respiratory apparatus for delivering a flow of breathable gas to a patient may include the humidifier and the flow generator and/or the tube. A method of humidifying a flow of breathable gas comprises sealing a chamber containing a supplying a water and pressurizing the chamber by directing the flow of breathable gas into the chamber.

Ball portion (6662) includes opposed recesses (6664) engaged with pivot pins (6645) on swivel component to form the hinge. Elbow component houses a pair of anti-asphyxia valves (6680).
