The fixture (3) has an elastic body (4) having the outside diameter same as the inner diameter of the pipe (P), holding plates (5) arranged on both faces of the elastic body, a retaining metal member (6) provided next to one of the holding plates and where folded-back claws (6c) capable of biting into the inner periphery of a insertion section (2a) are provided on the heads of legs (6b) that extend axially from the peripheral edge of an annular plate section (6a), a bolt (7), and a nut (8). The method comprises the steps of using a cut line forming means (26b) installed forwardly of the position that a high frequency induction coil (21) passes, so as to form a cut line (18) extending from the surface of the resin-covered steel pipe (1) toward the steel pipe (2), deep enough to reach the surface of the steel pipe (2) from the surface of the covering resin (3), throughout the length of the resin-covered steel pipe (1), circumferentially dividing the covering resin (3) into at least two parts, heating the steel pipe by high frequency induction heating, in the position of a separating device (25) disposed at a suitable position immediately after the passage of the position of the high frequency induction coil (21), to the extent the boundary between the covering resin (3) and the steel pipe (2) assumes the state for the release of the covering resin (3) from the steel pipe (2), and cutting each covering resin (3) into at least two parts along the cut line (18) and toward the outside of the steel pipe (2) by the separating device (25) while releasing and separating it from the steel pipe (2).

The frame (1) of the guided tractor comprises at least two separate frame components (7,8) that are arranged in line with the travelling direction of the guided tractor and joined by a pin (9) in such a manner that the frame components (7,8) are allowed to take an upward or downward bent formation. The frame components (7,8) are equipped with a clamp mechanism (10) capable of being raised and lowered, the clamp mechanism (10) being adapted to be raised and clamp the frame (6) to the cart (5) when the guided tractor has come to an appropriate position under the frame (6) of the cart (5). A sensor (13) is provided at a portion suitable for detecting the guide signal sent out from the guide element, such as a magnetic tape (14).
