The optical system (60) comprises a distal optical assembly (16) and a proximal optical assembly (18), between which a prism unit (46) is arranged. The prism unit (46) is designed to supply a left beam path exiting from the exit lens (32) of the distal optical assembly (16) to the left lens system channel (38L) of the proximal optical assembly (18). Likewise, the prism unit (46) is designed to supply a right beam path exiting from the exit lens (32) of the distal optical assembly (16) to the right lens system channel (38R) of the proximal optical assembly (18). A determined second distance (D2) can be adjusted in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis (LoA, RoA) of the left and right lens system channel (38L, 38R).
