摘要: A tissue resecting instrument includes a housing, a shaft rotatable relative to the housing and defining a proximal end portion disposed within the housing and a distal end portion distally-spaced from the housing, a cutting member operably associated with the distal end portion of the shaft, a turbine disposed within the housing and operably associated with the proximal end portion of the shaft, and a fluid outflow tube operably associated with the housing. The fluid outflow tube is adapted to connect to a suction source to enable the suctioning of fluid and resected tissue proximally through a lumen of the shaft, an interior of the housing, and into the fluid outflow tube. The turbine is configured such that proximal fluid flow across the plurality of fins of the turbine urges the turbine to rotate, thereby rotating the shaft relative to the housing to enable tissue resection with the cutting member.

摘要: hysteroscopic system includes a hysteroscope having a main body coupled to an extension portion. The extension portion may be a shaft configured to extend transcervically to a patient's uterine cavity. First, second, and third channels extend from the main body to a distal end of the extension portion. A fluid source is coupleable to a proximal end of the first channel, and a pressure sensor is coupleable to a proximal end of the second channel. A tissue resecting probe is configured for introduction through the third channel. At least one resistance feature is included which is configured to provide a selected level of resistance to axial sliding of the probe through the third channel while permitting rotation of the probe within the third channel.

摘要: Apparatus, methods and kits which, when installed or used, occlude or partially occlude a cervical canal, the internal opening of a cervical canal (cervical os), or a uterine side wall rupture location, such as to inhibit or prevent bacterial access and retard leakage of amniotic fluid resulting from PROM. The present apparatus can include an expandable support member of a biocompatible and non-toxic material. In some examples, the support member can include a top portion having a first diameter and a bottom portion having a second diameter less than the first diameter. In some examples, the support member can include an expandable stent of a suitable length and uniform diameter to be inserted in a non-dilated cervical canal or transabdominal access route. In various examples, the apparatus further includes a fluid-resistant fabric, polymer, substance or other material placed over at least the top portion of the support member.

摘要: A method and system of providing therapy to a patient's uterus is provided, which can include any number of features. The method can include the steps of inserting a uterine device into the uterus and performing a uterine integrity test to determine that the uterus is intact and not perforated. If it is determined that the uterus is not perforated, a patency test can be performed to determine that the uterine device is not clogged or embedded in tissue. If the uterus is intact and the device is not clogged or embedded in tissue, the uterus can be treated with the uterine device, e.g., uterine ablation. Systems for performing these methods are also disclosed.
