摘要: Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for power management in an electronics unit of a sensor device, e.g., such as in a continuous analyte sensor system. In some example embodiments, there is provided a method that includes monitoring, by a controller of a sensor electronics module, counts associated with signals received from a sensor device for a first period of time. The method also includes comparing a number of received counts with one or more benchmarked count thresholds, and determining whether to initiate an operational mode of the sensor electronics module based on the comparison. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also described.

摘要: The invention relates to diagnosis in general and more specifically a system and a method for determining the presence of jaundice in newborn babies, also known as neonatal jaundice. A main objective of the present invention is to provide a simple system and method for determining the presence of jaundice. Particularly since most deaths due to jaundice occur in low-income countries, there is a large unmet need of simple, reliable and affordable technologies able to identify at-risk newborn. The objective is accomplished through receiving a depiction of skin from an RGB sensor, and then using either an optical diffusion model of the skin or Monte Carlo simulations to calculate the bilirubin concentration. A meta model of the optical diffusion model or Monte Carlo simulations can also be used. Colour calibration is also performed by e.g. thin-plate spline interpolation.

摘要: The present invention describes an apparatus and method for determining the energy expenditure of a subject by indirect calorimetry where respiratory gases O 2 and CO 2 are captured in a tent mask coupled through a pneumotach flow meter to a vacuum inlet of a blower fan whose speed is controlled by a computer running a program that ensures that the bias flow being drawn through the mask always exceeds the subject's peak expiratory flow. VO 2 and VCO 2 and flow values are measured on a breath-by-breath basis and used in arriving at a bias flow adjustment voltage to be applied to the blower fan for adjusting its speed.

The behavior of the environmental control system is modified such that the environmental control system reduces the particular environmental conditions when the user sleeps in the bed.
