Abstract:
An introducer sheath assembly 100 having a handle portion 110 including a front end and a rear end, and a introducer sheath 130 extending outwardly from the front end of the handle portion, the introducer sheath including a device lumen 140 configured to slidably receive a corresponding device, a guidewire lumen 142 configured to slidably receive a corresponding guidewire, a first steering cable lumen 146, a second steering cable lumen 148, a first steering cable 154 disposed in the first steering cable lumen and a second steering cable 156 disposed in the second steering cable lumen, wherein the first steering cable lumen, the second steering cable lumen and the guidewire lumen are disposed radially outwardly from the device lumen.
Abstract:
System and components for inducing pleurodesis or other sclerosis or desired adhesion conditions to treat a patient, while minimizing likelihood of tissue damage from direct application of sclerosis-enhancing materials. A tube device is provided that is configured to elute sclerosis-enhancing material and/or other medicaments via a fenestrated drainage tube. The assembly of tube device with outer (typically drainage) tube may include one or more features configured to enhance delivery of medicament and/or drainage through the same assembly.
Abstract:
A combined multi-lumen central access catheter and an embolic filter including ports proximal and distal the filter for fluid infusion and/or pressure sensing and infusion ports in the catheter to permit infusion of bioactive agents, flushing agents and/or contrast agents. The embolic filter may be removably coupled to the multi-lumen catheter for temporary placement and retrieval under recommended indications.
Abstract:
The instant invention encompasses a catheter, comprising: a first expandable occlusion device and a second expandable occlusion device, expandable beyond a wall of the catheter, the first occlusion device and the second occlusion device spaced along the catheter for generating an occluded segment of the blood vessel between the first occlusion device and the second occlusion device when the first occlusion device and the second occlusion device are expanded, a lumen or catheter for removing uncontaminated blood from a location upstream of a first expandable occlusion device; a lumen or catheter for reintroducing the uncontaminated blood into a subject downstream from the second expandable occlusion device; apparati encompassing the above technology; and methods of use incorporating same.
Abstract:
A disposable access sheath having a deflectable tip is provided. The access sheath is very flexible and allows a physician or other medical professional to provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to a remote body cavity. The access sheath has a deflectable tip that is able to bend at least 90 DEG or 180 DEG or more. This flexibility allows the physician or medical professional to make a very tight turn to visualize or treat the body cavity being treated. The access sheath may include a visualization system, a working channel, an irrigation channel, or other desirable features. The access sheath may include an interface at the proximal end of the working channel for insertion of an instrument for diagnosis or treatment of a human or mammalian patient.
Abstract:
Some embodiments relate to an apparatus comprising an elongate flexible tube sized to be received within a tract and having a proximal end and a distal end; a drive mechanism coupled to the proximal end of the tube; and a liquid column extending from the proximal end to the distal end; wherein the drive mechanism is configured to cause movement of the liquid column within the tube to impart forward momentum to the tube and thereby promote advancement of at least the distal end of the tube within the tract when at least the distal end is received within a part of the tract.
