The invention relates to a method for extracting high-quality polyisoprene by grinding plants, by rotary shearing using a device comprising at least one rotor and at least one stator, into particles with a size of less than 1 mm, or grinding at a pH higher than 3 and lower than 8. Said method is implemented in aqueous phase and makes it possible to prepare a a dispersion of polyisoprene in water having a mean molar mass by weight (M w ) of more than 800,000 g/mol. The polyisoprene is extracted from plants and in particular from guayule ( Parthenium argentatum ). This method is particularly respectful with the environment.

The present invention provides a process for fractionating biomass into its individual components. The process includes pretreating a biomass which may include mechanically altering the fibers and/or contacting the biomass with a solvent to provide a fluidized biomass. The pretreated fluidized biomass may be subjected to high frequency pulses and shear forces without denaturing one or more components of the biomass to provide a first liquid fraction and a first fractionated biomass. The first liquid fraction may then be isolated or separated from the first fractionated biomass. The biomass may be separated, isolated or purified into lignin, extractives for use in pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals, cellulose, hemicellulose, and other sugars and proteins.

A cylindrical housing encloses a plurality of vertically stacked extractor sections each containing a plurality of baskets in vertical registry with baskets of the other sections, with the baskets all being stationary so that material to be processed passes in a vertical path down through each successive extractor section. Rotating screens and miscella collection pans are disposed beneath the baskets in each extractor section and form the bottom thereof, with the screens and pans having aligned openings which during rotation permit the material being processed to be passed from an upper basket to a lower basket in vertical registry therewith. A countercurrent flow miscella and solvent distribution and collection system supplies miscella or fresh solvent to the upper portion of each of the extractor sections above the baskets and rotates with the screen and collection pan to progressively apply the proper strength of miscella or solvent to each of the baskets in each of the extractor sections.

A biomass fractionation apparatus includes a vessel having a processing chamber, an inlet configured to receive a biomass into the processing chamber, and an outlet configured to discharge processed biomass from the chamber. A bed plate is movably positioned within the processing chamber and includes a plurality of elongated fins extending outwardly therefrom in substantially parallel spaced-apart relationship. A cylindrical rotor is rotatably secured within the processing chamber in adjacent, spaced-apart relationship with the bed plate. The rotor has a plurality of elongated blades extending radially outwardly therefrom in circumferentially spaced-apart relationship. Upon rotation of the rotor, the blades are configured to accelerate a biomass within the processing chamber against the fins of the bed plate and to cause the bed plate to pulsate against the rotor.

A cylindrical housing (30) encloses a plurality of vertically stacked extractor sections (12, 14, etc) each containing a plurality of baskets in vertical registry with baskets of the other sections, with the baskets all being stationary so that material to be processed passes in a vertical path down through each successive extractor section. Rotating screens (40) and miscella collection pans (52) are disposed beneath the baskets in each extractor section and form the bottom thereof, with the screens (40) and pans (52) having aligned openings which during rotation permit the material being processed to be passed from an upper basket to a lower basket in vertical registry therewith. A countercurrent flow miscella and solvent distribution and collection system supplies miscella or fresh solvent to the upper portion of each of the extractor sections above the baskets and rotates with the screen (40) and collection pan (52) to progressively apply the proper strength of miscella or solvent to each of the baskets in each of the extractor sections.

摘要:
The invention relates to a device (V) for obtaining a wort (WO) from a mash (MA) in the beer brewing or beverage industry, said device at least comprising: a receiving device (AG) for receiving the mash (MA); at least one separation device (T; T1, T2), each separation device having a surface (FA; FA1, FA2) and the surface (FA) having a plurality of openings (OP). The device (V) is preferably suitable for separating the mash (MA) into the wort (WO) and a residual mash (RM) by means of the surface (FA) of the separation device (T). The surface (FA; FA1, FA2), or part thereof, can be brought into contact with the mash (MA), when the mash (MA) is present in the receiving device (AG) for separation into the wort (WO) and the residual mash (RM). During the operation of the device (V), the surface (FA) is moved or can be moved, or can be rotated relative to the mash (MA), the residual mash (RM) and/or the receiving device (AG).
