    摘要: A sprayer system (10) has a first liquid line (160) and a second liquid line (170), both in fluid communication a row. In an embodiment, the row has a first pulse width modulated (PWM) valve (191) in fluid communication with the first liquid line (160) and a second PWM (191) in fluid communication with the second liquid line (170). The PWM valves may both be connected to same nozzle (195) or they may be connected to separate nozzles. The PWM valves may be arranged in a common housing. In an alternative embodiment, each row has a three-way valve (193) in fluid communication with the first and second liquid lines (160, 170). The three-way valve (193) is in fluid communication with a PWM valve (191), which is in fluid communication with a nozzle (195). The sprayer system can be used to apply one chemical to an entire field through the first liquid line and selectively apply an additional chemical to individual locations in the field through the second liquid line.

    摘要: An agricultural sprayer having a liquid supply conduit for directing selectively controllable pressurized liquid to a plurality of spray nozzle assemblies. Each nozzle assembly includes a nozzle body having a respective orifice member having an inwardly tapered conical section communicating with a smaller diameter discharge orifice. Each respective orifice member is made of a resilient and pressure responsive deformable material such that upon an increase in the pressure of the liquid supply said liquid flow passage and discharge orifice thereof can be altered to increase the rate through said orifice member and nozzle body by at least 75 percent and upon interruption of the supply of pressurized liquid to the orifice member the orifice member liquid flow passage and discharge orifice return to their original shape.

A method of detecting fluid flow through a nozzle coupled in fluid communication with a solenoid valve including a solenoid coil and a poppet is provided. The method generally includes (1) dispensing fluid through the solenoid valve and the nozzle, (2) de-energizing the solenoid coil to close the solenoid valve and control a fluid flow through the nozzle, (3) determining a closing time of the solenoid valve based on a signal from a poppet measuring device, and (4) determining a fluid flow value based on a time delay between the de-energizing the solenoid coil and the closing time.
