    摘要: The object of the invention is to provide an inverted vertical lathe comprising a device for replacing collets automatically, and having a detector for detecting that the collet has been gripped correctly. A chuck 400 mounted on a headstock 40 grips a collet 500 in a replaceable manner via a tapered bore 430 provided to the end thereof. A collet end face eccentricity detector 600 comprises a detecting member (sensor) 610 fixed to the end of an arm 630. The detecting member 610 detects the eccentricity of the end face 510 of the collet 500 in a contactless manner. A variation pattern of the eccentricity occurring when each collet 500 is gripped correctly by the chuck 400 on the main spindle is detected in advance, and this pattern is compared with the variation pattern of the eccentricity detected by the present detection, and thus, whether or not the collet has been gripped correctly is detected.

    摘要: For the precision adjustment of machine tools there are used mechanical or electromechanical feeler apparatuses, for example optical indicators which are lit when contacting the surface to be machined. The precision of the adjustment by means of said apparatus does not always correspond to the precision requirements. According to the present method, the feeler approaches slowly the surface or the edge to be feeled until the contact of the feeler rotating with the surface or the edge corresponds to a rotation angle ( alpha ) of the feeler which exceeds 180 by a security value, but is smaller than 300 . The device for implementing said method comprises a casing with an electric current source and switching members for optical indicator elements. The casing is traversed by a hollow shaft connected to one pole of the current source. The hollow shaft carries at its end, on the machine side, a recording area ground with precision and, at its free end, a feeler which is electrically insulated and connected to an amplifier.

    摘要: The present invention includes a method of precisely calibrating the position of a spindle (20) of a drilling apparatus (10) with respect to a worktable (14). The drilling apparatus (10) includes the control device (22), which calculates an expected relative position of the spindle (20) and the worktable (14) based upon predetermined information regarding the relative position of the spindle (20) and the worktable (14) and the controlled movement of the spindle (20) relative the worktable (14). The method includes positioning the spindle (20) in a first position with respect to the worktable (14), empirically determining the position of the first position with respect to the worktable (14) in a first direction, empirically determining the position of the first position with respect to the worktable (14) in a second direction, and comparing the expected relative position of the spindle (20) and the worktable (14) at the first position with the empirically determined relative position of the spindle (20) relative the worktable (14) in the first direction and the second direction so as to ascertain the "proper correction factor."
    Another aspect of the invention is a calibration device (54), including a body (66) defining an aperture and (56) an opening spaced from the aperture (56), a first differential pressure transducer (62) measuring the position of an object in the aperture (56) in a first direction, a second differential pressure transducer (64) measuring the position of an object in the aperture (56) in a second direction different from the first direction, and a third differential pressure transducer measuring the direction of an object in the opening in the first direction. Advantageously, the device (54) includes means for securing the device to a worktable (14) to prevent movement of the device in the first direction and the second direction. Preferably, this securing means comprises releasable vacuum cups (130).
