A vehicle wheel rim (34) having a pressurized medium supply device (22) for a tire that is mounted on the vehicle wheel rim (34) is also proposed, as well as a vehicle having a vehicle wheel that includes such a vehicle wheel rim (34). A device for providing a vehicle wheel mounted energy supply is also proposed.

The control valve comprises: a valve body having a pump inlet chamber, a pump outlet chamber, and a control chamber, wherein a first check valve is positioned in the pump inlet chamber so that the first check valve is located between an air inlet and a pump inlet port, said valve body further comprising a second check valve positioned in the pump outlet chamber, said second check valve being positioned between a pump outlet port and a main pressure chamber, said valve body further comprising a relief valve positioned in the control chamber, said relief valve having an inlet end in fluid communication with a main pressure chamber and an outlet end in fluid communication with the atmosphere; wherein the main pressure chamber is in fluid communication with the pump outlet chamber; and wherein the control valve is configured for the main pressure chamber being in fluid communication with the distal end of the tire valve stem.

The method comprises the steps of: providing a tire that includes a sidewall (34), the sidewall being formed with an annular groove (38) which receives an annular air tube (20), the annular air tube including a first end (24) receiving a first fitting (40) and a second end (30) receiving a second fitting (42); forming a recess (54) in the tire sidewall (34) along the annular groove (38) at a location where the first end (24) of the annular air tube (20) is adjacent the second end (30) of the annular air tube (20); providing a mold (70) being formed with a cavity (74); removably securing the first fitting (40) in the cavity (74) and removably securing the second fitting (42) in the cavity (74); positioning the mold (70) on a surface of the sidewall (34); introducing at least one of an elastomer and a polymer into the mold cavity (74); and heating the mold (70), whereby the connecting member (32, 52) is formed on the sidewall (34). Also, a respective connecting member (32, 52) and a tire comprising such a member (32, 52) is disclosed.
