Abstract: A computer-implemented method (100) for automatically controlling the charging of an energy storage system (40) in an electric heavy-duty vehicle (1) is provided. The method (100) comprises determining (210), by a processor device of a computer system, a level of ECO-driving (50) of the heavy-duty vehicle (1), determining (220), by the processor device, a level of battery aging (60) of the at least one battery pack (30) in the energy storage system (40) of the heavy-duty vehicle (1), wherein said determination is based on a battery model (62), determining (230), by the processor device, a maximum allowable charging condition (70) of the at least one battery pack (30), wherein the determination is based on the level of ECO-driving (50) and the level of aging (60) of the battery pack (30) and controlling (240) the charging of the at least one battery pack (30) based on the maximum allowable charging condition (70) in order to control the aging of the battery pack (30).

Abstract: Disclosed is a battery performance management system and method using an electric vehicle charging station. The battery performance management server collects battery performance evaluation information including identification information and operation characteristic accumulative information of a battery, identification information and driving characteristic accumulative information of the electric vehicle, and latest charging characteristic information of the battery from a plurality of charging stations through a network. Also, the server determines a current SOH corresponding to the collected battery performance evaluation information by using an artificial intelligence model that is trained in advance to receive the battery performance evaluation information and output a SOH of the battery. Also, the server determines a latest control factor corresponding to the current SOH, and transmits the latest control factor to the charging station through the network so that the charging station may transmit the latest control factor to a control system of the electric vehicle to update the control factor.

Abstract: Embodiments related to an optimal charging system of a vehicle comprising a first information receiving component, a battery health management component, a charging component, and a communication component is configured to connect to a charging station via the charging component; transmit a length of time for charging by the communication component; transmit a state of health information to the charging station via the battery health management component by the communication component; activate charging of the battery pack (304) by the charging component; establish a bi-directional communication link with the charging station to allow extraction of state of health information by the charging station by the communication component; and provide an update to the battery's state of health via the bi-directional communication link while the vehicle is connected to the charger.
