Abstract:
The packages described by this invention all have reduced "head space," that is, the distance from lid to lens. Packages contain dimples to achieve this reduced head space. Specifically, packages are designed with dimple sag equal to or less than 1.90-mm, or volume displaced equal to or less than 360µl. Combined with the existing primary packaging, it has been found that such conditions provide for reduction in folded lens rate during shipping and handling. As well, lenses stored or having an extended time in low head space packages in a "foil down" orientation now have characteristics closer lenses stored in a "foil up orientation." The packages finally include a foil 3D pattern at a smaller scale than the dimple, by embossing or other methods allowing reduce lens sticking to the foil as well as an added anti-counterfeiting measure.
Abstract:
A hydration monitoring system for the collection of data about fluid consumption and hydration levels of athletes during training or practice sessions. The system may also measure and analyze carbohydrate consumption. The system utilizes a hydration bottle containing a fluid and to measures the amount of fluid consumed in a given time interval and wirelessly transmit the measurements; and a scale configured to measure the weight of an athlete and wirelessly transmit the measurements. The system further utilizes a data communications hub configured to receive data comprising the measurements from the hydration bottle and scale and forward the data to a computer; and a computer configured to receive the data from the hub for analysis. The computer analyzes the data and calculates whether the athlete should consume more or less fluid and/or more or less carbohydrates.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a smart metal, glass, paper-based, wood-based, or plastic packaging (1, 2, 3, 4) for beverage comprising at least one sensory perceptible output, characterized in that a structural component of the packaging forms a component of the at least one sensory perceptible output. in addition, the present invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a smart packaging for a beverage is provided comprising the steps of manufacturing a packaging for a beverage and constituting at least one sensory perceptible output on or in the packaging, wherein a structural component of the packaging is taken for constituting a component of the at least one sensory perceptible output.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a packaging film (1) for use in packaging a consumer product, especially a pack of smoking articles, comprising: an area or expanse (2) of film material configured to cover the consumer product; and opening means (3) formed in the area or expanse (2) of the film material to assist or promote opening or removal of the film when it covers the product in order to access the product, the opening means (3) including at least two frangible seams (5) which extends across at least a portion of the area or expanse (2) of the film material, wherein the at least one frangible seam (5) comprises at least two lines of weakness (7) that extend generally parallel and together define a single, desirably substantially linear, tear path (P).
Abstract:
A scented sheet member, in which a gelatin gel including at least one of a perfume and a perfume-containing microcapsule is enclosed in a space between film sheets in at least one of which a perfume-permeating hole is formed, is affixed to an inner surface of an upper surface of the containing box so that the at least one of the film sheets having the micropore faces a stack of paper tissues. This can provide a scented paper tissue container that can strengthen a scent when necessary.
Abstract:
[Object] A scented tissue product is provided that offers excellent tissue removability and that enables a scent to be felt continuously in a stable manner. [Solution] The object is achieved by a scented tissue product in which a fragrant film having a fragrance layer situated between a fragrance-permeable resin layer and a fragrance-impermeable resin layer is attached, separately from a film having a slit therein for covering a dispensing opening, to an area including at least part of an inner surface of the top face of a box member constituting a container box such that the fragrance-permeable resin layer faces a stack of tissues.
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method of producing scented tissue paper. [Solution] The problem is solved by performing shrink wrapping in which a tissue paper housing 1 obtained by carrying fragrance-containing microcapsules 31 on an inner surface of a housing box using a binder 30 is covered with a shrink film 2 and the shrink film 2 is exposed to hot air W so as to be attached to the tissue paper housing 1, causing the fragrance-containing microcapsules 31 to be detached from the binder 30 by heating the tissue paper housing 1 at the time of the shrink wrapping, and providing the scent for plural sheets of tissue papers 20.
Abstract:
A spout fitment (130) for dispensing a scented household liquid (200) is disclosed that includes a pouring spout having a topographical feature (175D) that may increase the exposed surface area of a liquid and/or alter the fluid dynamics of the scented household liquid (200) during a product dispensing event. The pouring spout may comprise a floor surface (144), a first side surface (145), and a second side surface (142) that collectively define a flow channel for dispensing the liquid, the flow channel extending along a longitudinal axis from a spout inlet to a spout outlet (150); and at least one of the floor surface, the first side surface, and the second side surface comprising a topographical feature (175D) selected from at least one of a plurality of depressions and a plurality of protuberances (175D).
Abstract:
This invention provides a packaging assembly (1) for articles to be packaged, and especially for consumer articles, such as cigarette packs or the like, the packaging assembly (1) comprising: a container (2) assembled from a blank, especially a substantially flat blank (A, D), the container (2) comprising a first compartment (3) for receiving and accommodating one or more articles to be packaged and a second compartment (4) for separately housing an electronic device; and a cover or lid (5) provided on the container (1) and movable between an open position (X) for permitting access to the first compartment (3) and a closed position to prevent access to the first compartment (3); wherein the container (2) and/or the cover (5) includes output means (6) printed thereon for connection with the electronic device for generating visible and/or audible output. The present invention also provides a packaging blank (A, D) for such a packaging assembly (1).
