摘要: A handrail, suitable for use with an accelerating and between the rollers and the cam rails causes the arms to fold decelerating moving walkway, comprising a plurality of and unfold, which folding and unfolding action changes the overlapping handrail elements (51) movable about the amount of handrail element overlap. The handrail elements periphery of a vertical, oval track, is disclosed. Handrail are moved by a cable drive mechanism that includes a main acceleration and deceleration is produced by changing the drive cable (99) that is gripped by the overlap control amount of element overlap. Element overlap is changed by mechanism along substantially the entire length of constant an overlap control mechanism that comprises a plurality of speed zones located between the zones wherein the handrail suitably positioned cam rails (85a and b; 87a, b, c and d; 89a, accelerates and decelerates. In addition, preferably, the b, c and d; 90a and b; and 91) and a plurality of cam handrail elements are moved in change-of-direction regions followers. The cam followers include rollers (69, 75 and 81) located at the ends of the oval track by large sprockets (93) and arms (61, 71) that link that handrail elements (57) that engage selected rollers of the overlap control together. The rollers ride on the cam rails. The coaction mechanism.

摘要:

摘要: A walkway comprises at least one flat belt entrained around rollers, and a termination plate at the discharge end of the belt. The termination plate has a substantially straight leading edge which lies adjacent to the surface of the belt at a position at which the belt passes around the roller at the discharge end, the leading edge being spaced from the belt by a gap and the leading edge portion of the plate being shaped that the edge portion defines with the adjacent portion of the belt a nip of small depth in a vertical direction. Closure means are provided adjacent the underside of the leading edge portion of the termination plate to close from below the gap between the leading edge of the termination plate and the belt. The closure means is movable and is biased into a position in which the closure means lies closely adjacent to the belt, the closure means when closely adjacent the belt preventing ingestion of matter between the belt and the termination plate and the closure means being movable away from the belt against the bias under the effect of matter ingested between the belt and the closure means. Switch means is responsive to displacement of the closure means away from the belt by more than a predetermined distance upon ingestion of matter therebetween whereby to cause stoppage of the belt.

摘要: A speed variable moving sidewalk for conveying passengers includes an endless circulating path having inverting sections, a high-speed section and speed variable sections, and a large number of treadboards moving along the circulating path. Each treadboard can move independently as being guided by guide rails and has hooks on its underside which engage shafts of a driving chain for inverting section. The treadboard further has hooks on its underside which engage shafts of a rack chain in order to be driven in the high-speed section and a roller for transversely sliding relative to the neighboring treadboard. A handrail mechanism for the speed variable moving sidewalk includes: with the total length of the moving sidewalk being divided into plural portions, a multiple-number of independent moving handrail portions for allowing passengers to hold thereon, being arranged for the respective portions of the sidewalk while all of the moving handrail portions are arranged without overlapping with one another.
