Closure means are provided adjacent the underside of the leading edge portion of the termination plate to close from below the gap between the leading edge of the termination plate and the belt. The closure means is movable and is biased into a position in which the closure means lies closely adjacent to the belt, the closure means when closely adjacent the belt preventing ingestion of matter between the belt and the termination plate and the closure means being movable away from the belt against the bias under the effect of matter ingested between the belt and the closure means.
