Die Erfindung betrifft ein Substrat zur Behandlung von Oberflächenwasser, wobei das Substrat ein offenporiges Trägermaterial enthält, welches an seiner Oberfläche mit Eisen- und / oder Aluminium-Ionen versehen ist, die ein Adsorbens zur Phosphatadsorption bilden. Zur Herstellung des Substrats schlägt die Erfindung vor, dass zur Schaffung eines Adsorptionsmediums Calciumsilikathydrat (CSH) in Form einer Vielzahl offenporiger Partikel bereitgestellt wird und das CSH als Trägermaterial mit einer Flüssigkeit benetzt wird, die Eisen- und / oder Aluminium-Ionen aufweist.

The present invention relates to a filter for purification of water. An object of the present invention is to provide a filter for purification of liquids which achieves at least 2 log reductions of bacteria, viruses or cysts. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a filter for purification of liquids which provides high flow rates in gravity fed water purification systems. The present inventors have surprisingly found that a filter comprising a fibrous support composed of fibres and a matrix of polymer with copper impregnated therein characterised in that the matrix of polymer is superimposed on the surface of the fibres, not only provides reduction of viruses from a liquid to be purified at low pressure drops but also retains high flow rates. It was further found that the copper leach from the filter is within limits.

This allows the body of water to be remediated and at the same time recover the hydrocarbons spilled in a clean and substantially continuous manner.
