The invention relates to novel dendritic molecules and methods of making them. The dendritic molecules comprise arms, each of which arms is a polymer. The dendritic molecules can be synthesised by way of a reasonably small number of versatile and reliable step-wise reactions, especially click chemistry reactions. Chemical and structural heterogeneity is possible in the dendritic molecule. The invention also provides for surface and interior functionalisation of the molecule.

The present invention deals with the synthesis of multifunctional dendrimeric and hyperbranched polymers for application as drug delivery systems of bioactive pharmaceutical compounds and as gene delivery systems (carriers of genetic material), the latter through condensation with genetic material. Specifically, the present invention deals with the synthesis of multifunctional compounds based on appropriate dendrimeric or hyperbranched polymers at the terminal surface of which have been introduced functional groups X, Y, Z. In addition, for gene delivery to cells these multifunctional systems will become cationic for the formation of complexes with negatively charged genetic material. The functional groups render the delivery systems recognizable by complementary cell receptors. Furthermore they render the systems stable in the biological milieu and facilitate their transport through cell membranes.

The invention concerns the use of hyperbranched polymers and dendrimers, comprising at least one group of formula (I) in which: Y represents the oxygen atom or a NH group; and A represents a C1-C12 alkane di-yl group, linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated; said group being optionally interrupted by one or several heteroatoms and/or substituted by a function selected among: amino (-NH2): acylamino (-NH-CO-R) in which R represents a C1-C10 alkyl group, linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated; carboxylic acid (-COOH), ester (-COOR) in which R represents a C1-C10 alkyl group, linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, as film-forming agent. The invention also concerns a film-forming composition comprising said compound and its use particularly in cosmetics or pharmaceutics.

The electrolyte material comprises a fluoropolymer (H)1 having a structural unit (u1) that has an ionic group and a structural unit (u2) that has an alicyclic structure, wherein the fluoropolymer (H)1 is composed of a branched molecular chain, and has a segment (A)3 comprising a molecular chain having the structural unit (u1) and a segment (B)2 composed of a molecular chain having the structural unit (u2), and the ion exchange capacity of the segment (B)2 is smaller than the ion exchange capacity of the segment (A)3.
