The manufactured laminate film comprises an elongated release film having thereon a plurality of insular adhesive films (A) and (B) mutually adjacent in the lengthwise direction, and the method includes: obtaining an elongated laminate having a release film and an adhesive film; precutting the adhesive film to obtain a first peeling part; and peeling off the first peeling part from the release film. The first peeling part includes peripheral parts (A1) and (B2) of insular adhesive films (A) and (B) respectively positioned at one and the other widthwise end side of the release film; and connection part (C) connecting peripheral parts (A1) and (B2), but not including peripheral parts (A2) and (B1) of insular adhesive films (A) and (B) respectively positioned at the other and the one widthwise end side of the release film.

The adhesive comprises polyolefin base polymer, from 1 to 10 wt % of at least one functionalized polyolefin, and from 1 to 15 wt % of a wax, based on the total weight of the polyolefin base polymer, functionalized polyolefin and wax, wherein the wax has a weight average molecular weight at least 8% of the weight average molecular weight of the polyolefin base polymer, viscosity at 190° C. of 60 mPa·s or more, and a crystallization temperature greater than the polyolefin base polymer and greater than 100° C., and wherein the adhesive has at least 5% fiber tear at 2° C., at least 50% fiber tear at 25° C., and a characteristic set time of less than 3 seconds.

A novel hot melt adhesive for bonding labels on plastic bottles is described. The adhesive comprises a blend of a styrenic block copolymer, an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, a tackifying resin, petrolatum and optionally a wax. The use of petrolatum instead of mineral oil provides for better elevated temperature resistance than traditional formulations.
