The invention relates to an organic light emitting diode (OLED) with improved serviceable life and improved transport of negative charge carriers. The organic light emitting diode is made from an organic semiconductor material, in which the transport of negative charge carriers and stability relative to reduction by azahetarylene/Lewis acid complexes is provided. The above permits an increased service life for the emission layer which increases the service life of the component and avoids a readjustment of the brightness during operation. The invention further relates to organic light diodes in which the position of the emission zone in the emitter layer and the colour of the emission can be specifically influenced by azahetarylene/Lewis acid complexes.
