Disclosed herein is a method wherein the yarns ranging from a common fiber for the purpose of clothes to a hard-to-dye fiber are impregnated in a UV ray-cured coating liquid, thus forming a thin film coating layer and then curing a UV ray-cured coating liquid. As compared to a conventional thermosetting yarn coating method, the present invention is providing an environmentally friendly manufacturing method in the way that about 90% energy saving effect can be obtained, and waste water is not produced since a medium, for example, water, etc. is not used, and carbon dioxide is not emitted during combustion, and a washing process can be removed with the aid of a high conversion degree. Various functional substances may be distributed with a good adhering force, thus providing various performances.

A fabric is printed by inkjet printing with a first liquid containing a dyeing assistant. Then, the fabric is further printed by inkjet printing with a second liquid containing a colorant and a water-soluble photo-curable resin. The second liquid applied on the fabric is then irradiated with light.

The invention provides a method for producing colored contact lenses with high quality color images. The method of the invention comprises the steps of (a) providing a water based ink in at least one cliché wherein a pattern to be printed on the contact lens has been created; (b) transferring the water based ink from the cliché to at least one surface of at least one contact lens forming mold by means of at least one transfer pad; (c) at least partially curing the ink transferred on the mold to form a colored film; (d) dispensing a hydrogel lens-forming material into the mold; and (e) curing the lens-forming material within the mold to form the contact lens, whereby the colored film detaches from the molding surface and becomes integral with the body of the contact lens; characterized in that the relative air humidity in the immediate vicinities of the transfer pad/s is kept higher than 50% at standard pressure and temperature conditions during ink transfer.

A method and apparatus for inkjet printing is provided onto fabric (15) using ultraviolet (UV) light curable ink, the ink is first partially cured with UV light (24) and then is subjected to heating to more completely cure the ink. The printing is provided in a quilting machine (10) having a quilting station (27) and a printing station (25) located upstream of the quilting station. Preferably, at the printing station, only a top layer of fabric is printed with a multi-colored design under the control of a programmed controller (35). UV curable ink is jetteed onto the fabric with a dot volume of about 75 picoliters. A conveyor (20) moves the printed fabric from the printing station through a UV curing station (24) where a UV curing light head moves either with the print head or independent of the print head to expose the deposited drops of UV ink with a beam of about 300 watts per linear inch of energy, at a rate that applies about 1 joule per square centimeter. The conveyor then conveys the fabric through a heated drying station or oven (26) where the fabric is heated to about 300 degree F for about 30 seconds up to three minutes. Forced hot air is preferably used to apply the heat in the oven, but other heating methods such as infrared or other radiant heaters may be used. Before, or preferably after, the heat curing, the fabric is combined with other material layers and a quilted pattern is applied in program controlled coordination with the printed pattern.
