The invention relates to a method for operating a transmission device which has at least one oil chamber, in which a gear set of the transmission device is arranged. It is provided here that an overall energy level is determined for the oil chamber in order to determine the temperature in the oil chamber, wherein an initial value for the overall energy level during an operational start of the transmission device is determined using the following steps: determining of a standardized shut-down time as a function of an external temperature and the overall energy level which prevailed when the transmission device was shut down, determining of a corrected shut-down time as a function of the standardized shut-down time and the measured shut-down time, and determining of the initial value as a function of the corrected shut-down time and the instantaneous external temperature. Variations in the air-fuel ratio among cylinders are specified as one cause of deterioration in exhaust emissions however the size of the variations in the air-fuel ratio among cylinders detected by the catalyst upstream sensor does not always match the margin of deterioration in exhaust emissions. The objective of the present invention is to detect the deterioration in the exhaust emissions caused due to variations in the air-fuel ratio among cylinders. Deterioration in exhaust emissions due to variations in the air-fuel ratio among engine cylinders is detected based on a means to calculate a specified frequency component A of the catalyst upstream sensor signal; a means to calculate a specified frequency component B of the catalyst downstream sensor signal; and the frequency component A and the frequency component B.

Motor vehicles of all types with various forms of drive have been known for some time. For the propulsion thereof, said vehicles regularly burn fluid fossil fuels, such as for example, derivatives obtained from crude oil, like diesel, petrol and similar, which may also be treated with additives. The application of said fossil fuels in motor vehicles causes various pollutants, such as for example, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide and particulates etc. The aim of the invention is to reduce at least one harmful component on burning fossil fuels of all kinds, keeping the applied technological complexity to a minimum. Said aim is achieved with the use of an information support of the ENERCON type in a vehicle, whereby the information support is preferably mounted at a close distance and/or with the largest possible surface and/or contacting with the motor block and/or fuel tank and/or fuel line and/or the air conditioning unit and/or another part of the interior of the motor vehicle.
