    摘要: An electronic control system (52) and method for controlling and preventing damage to a stand alone or network of oil free, two stage compressor packages (50). To prevent the occurrence of a high temperature condition and subsequent seizure of the compressor, pressure (76, 72) and temperature (60, 62, 58) sensors are disposed at strategic locations in the compressor package. The electronic control system (52) detects and predicts failure based on pressure and temperature differentials and shuts the compressors (54, 56) down before actual failure. The electronic control system (52) records the shutdown parameters in non volatile memory and displays a reason for shutdown. A plurality of electronic control systems (52) can be connected in a peer-to-peer network to coordinate control of a plurality of compressors connected to the same air distribution system.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to a liquid supply system including a motor-pump unit (13) designed for installation in a liquid supply such as a well or storage tank (11). The unit supplies the liquid to a supply pipe (16), and a pressure sensor (33) connected to the pipe is operable to provide a control signal (34) representative of the liquid pressure in the pipe. The motor (15) is a variable-speed AC motor. A control for the motor is responsive to the control signal (34) and actuates a power circuit to drive the motor (15) at a speed adjusted to maintain the liquid pressure at a substantially constant value. The control circuit further includes means for turning off the power to the motor in the absence of flow through pipe, which does not require a flow sensor. The power circuit comprises a DC link including a rectifier and an inverter. The rectifier is located adjacent the pressure sensor; the inverter may be located adjacent the rectifier and the pressure sensor or in the casing of the motor-pump unit.
