An impeller (1) for a molten metal pump having a cylindrical body comprised of a refractory material. The cylindrical body includes generally coplanar top (2) and bottom (12) surfaces. A central bore (4) is provided in the top surface (2) to provide a point for mating with a shaft. A plurality of circumferentially spaced passages (6) extend from the top surface (2) to a side wall (8) of the impeller (1), each of the passages being separate and preferably having an inlet opening (5) which is equal to or less than the corresponding outlet opening (9) in size.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Laufradsystem für Pumpen mit einer in einem Gehäuse (17) angeordneten Antriebswelle (6), die mit einem Laufrad (18) zum Fördern flüssiger Medien verbunden ist. Zur Erhöhung der Betriebssicherheit und -verfügbarkeit und Reduzierung der Instandhaltungskosten wird vorgeschlagen, dass das Laufrad (18) aus einem keramischen Werkstoff besteht und dass das Laufrad (18) auf einer Kompensationseinheit (2) zur Aufnahme der Wärmedehnung aufgeschoben ist.

Eine Schmelzenentnahmevorrichtung für Schmelzenöfen zur Beschickung von Gießmaschinen weist eine Schmelzenförderpumpe (1) aus einem einen unteren Schmelzeneinlauf (3) und einen oberen Schmelzenauslauf (4) bildenden Pumpenrohr (2) und einer innerhalb des Pumpenrohres (2) verlaufenden, einen Pumpenrotor (6) tragenden Pumpenwelle (5) auf. Um eine von den Schmelzniveauschwankungen innerhalb des Schmelzenofens weitgehend unabhängige und damit einwandfrei dosierbare Schmelzenförderung zu erreichen, ist der Schmelzenförderpumpe (1) eine Ladeeinrichtung (7) zum Konstanthalten der Förderhöhe (h) vorgeordnet, welche Ladeeinrichtung (7) einen das Pumpenrohr (2) mit dem Schmelzeneinlauf (3) aufnehmenden Ladebehälter (8) und eine den Ladebehälter (8) bis zu einem die Ladehöhe bestimmenden Schmelzenüberlauf (9) schmelzenbefüllbare Ladepumpe (10) umfaßt, wobei die Förderleistung der Ladepumpe (10) die der Förderpumpe (1) übersteigt.

At least one post (27) is disposed between the support (22) and the housing (3). The post (27) includes an elongated rod (29) surrounded by a heat resistant outer member (31). The rod (29) includes a first end connected to the support (22) and a second end secured within a cavity (37) in the housing (3).

Un nouveau dispositif isolant (3, 35) est monté en association avec une pompe de métal chaud dans un bain de métal réactif. Le dispositif d'isolation réduit la tendance de la pompe a conférer des turbulences à la coulée, réduisant ainsi la réaction entre la coulée et l'atmosphère ainsi que la production de crasse. Le dispositif isolant comprend une enceinte (3, 35) placée autour de l'arbre d'entraînement (4, 32) de la pompe.
