This causes the opening of a passageway in the outer component to be covered with wall forming material (48). The inner component (40) is then inserted into the outer component through the wall forming material thereby trapping the wall material between the internal and external components. The barrier layer (51) of the container wall is therefore continuous from the container to inside the fitting. A new fuel container, fuel neck fitting, and flange for mounting components on a fuel tank are disclosed.

An der zylindrischen Auflagefläche (6) des Sattelkörpers (3) ist koaxial zum Anschlußstutzen (4) ein Einschweißstutzen (7) einteilig angeformt. Der Aufschweißsattel (1) ist mit dem Einschweißstutzen (7) in eine entsprechende Bohrung (9) in der Wand (8) des Hauptrohres (2) eingeschweißt und mit der Auflagefläche (6) am Außenmantel (10) des Hauptrohres (2) angeschweißt. Die Länge (11) des Einschweißstutzens (7) ist größer bemessen als die Wandstärke (12) des Hauptrohres (2), so daß die Dichtheit der Schweißverbindung von Aufschweißsattel (1) und Hauptrohr (2) bei den im Hauptrohr (2) und dem Abzweigrohr (5) auftretenden Drücken und Temperaturen des durch die Rohre strömenden Mediums gewährleistet ist und eine hohe Widerstandsfähigkeit der Schweißverbindung gegen äußere Krafteinwirkung erreicht wird.

The improved electrofusion joint and header for supplying hot water that perform satisfactorily at elevated temperatures as evidenced by high heat resistance, that exhibit good sealing property and that can be handled efficiently in mounting and various other operations have a crosslinked thermoplastic resin layer and at least one joining portion which comprises a non-crosslinked thermoplastic resin layer that is formed as an integral part of said crosslinked thermoplastic resin layer in the area where it contacts a tubular member to be joined, and a heating electric wire provided either within or on the outer or inner surface of said non-crosslinked thermoplastic resin layer. Such electrofusion joint and header are applicable to any part of a piping system for supplying hot water and they will withstand use for a prolonged period.
