A method of drying humid particulate material, which method comprises providing a supplier of pressurized steam and a steam dryer comprising a closed container maintaining an atmosphere of super heated steam at an elevated pressure and having a lower cylindrical part and an upper cylindrical part, and a heat exchanger assembly located inside the closed container and comprising a channel for allowing the super heated steam to be transported from inside the upper cylindrical part to inside the lower cylindrical part. The heat exchanger assembly comprises a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger for heating the super heated steam, the first heat exchanger being positioned above the second heat exchanger and the channel going down through the first and second heat exchangers. The method comprises supplying a primary flow of steam from the supplier to the second heat exchanger for heating the second heat exchanger and condensing the primary flow of steam within the second heat exchanger into a flow of condensed hot water, discharging the flow of condensed hot water from the second heat exchanger, generating a first flow of fluid exclusively from the flow of condensed hot water, leading the first flow of fluid to the first heat exchanger for heating the first heat exchanger, generating a flow of the super heated steam going upwards on the outside of the heat exchanger assembly to the inside of the upper cylindrical part and downwards through the channel, feeding the humid particulate material into the closed container, guiding the humid particulate material along a path around the heat exchanger assembly for subjecting the humid particulate material to the flow of the super heated steam for converting the humid particulate material into dry particulate material, and removing the dry particulate material from the first container.

The present invention relates to a method for drying high moisture, low calorific value lignite for a generating set and recovering water contained therein and an apparatus thereof, which mainly consisting of a rotary steam tube dryer, a washing cooling tower, a coal mill, a 1st bag filter I, a condenser, a weighing surge bunker, a water ring vacuum pump and so on. In the present invention, a drying system is integrated with a milling system, every dryer and the corresponding coal mill are disposed and are directly connected via a surge bunker, thereby not only saving the heat lost during the transportation of pulverized coal, but also omitting a long-distance transportation from a conventional drying system to a conventional milling system, effectively avoiding such phenomena as dust pollution, waste and spontaneous combustion during transportation and transshipment, simplifying the coal preparation system employed in the front-end process of drying.

An apparatus and method for drying instruments using superheated steam is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a chamber for receiving the instruments, a distribution means for distributing superheated steam within the chamber and an exhaust means for purging vaporized moisture from the chamber. The chamber has at least one inlet port which is connected to the distribution means. The method comprises sterilizing the instruments using saturated steam generated by the steam generation means and drying the instruments using superheated steam generated by the steam generation means to vaporize moisture within the chamber and purging the vaporized moisture from the chamber using the exhaust means.

The present disclosure relates to a coal drying system for removing water contained in coal used as a fuel of a thermoelectric power plant with superheated steam. The system prevents the incomplete combustion of the coal by removing water existing inside and outside the coal fuel of the thermoelectric power plane, thereby improving a heating value of coal and minimizing the discharge of pollutants, prevents the corrosion of the system and improves the durability, and increases the use of low-quality coal of which the demand is low, thereby improving the stable supply of the coal.
