    摘要: A universal rapid diagnostics test reader is disclosed and described herein that includes a set of control electronics, a digital camera component, an illumination component, a housing component, and a rapid diagnostics test tray, wherein the tray can hold at least one rapid diagnostics test having a shape and a size in a fixed position relative to the digital camera component and the illumination component, and wherein the reader can accommodate more than one different rapid diagnostics test. Methods are also disclosed that include: providing at least one first rapid diagnostics test having a first physical size, first feature and first format; providing at least one second rapid diagnostics test having a second physical size, second feature and second format; inserting the first rapid diagnostics test in a universal rapid diagnostics test reader; analyzing the first rapid diagnostics test using the universal rapid diagnostics test reader; removing the first rapid diagnostics test from the reader; inserting the second rapid diagnostics test in a universal rapid diagnostics test reader without any mechanical adjustments of the reader or without the use of any additional parts or additional inserts; and analyzing the second rapid diagnostics test using the universal rapid diagnostics test reader.

    摘要: The present invention provides a sensor for detecting or quantifying a target substance contained in a liquid sample. The sensor comprises a quinone compound that accepts electrons released as a result of dehydrogenation or oxidization of the target substance by the enzyme; and at least a pair of electrodes, wherein the quinone compound contains a quinone and a substituent, wherein the substituent is hydrophilic. The quinone compound has a lower redox potential than conventional substances, so interfering substances have less effect on detection results with this sensor, particularly the redox potential of the quinone compound measured using a silver/silver chloride (saturated potassium chloride) electrode as a reference electrode is more negative than the oxidization potential of ascorbic acid.

    摘要: A portable in-vitro (PIV) diagnostic detector operable to perform a fluorescence assay on a sample in one or more detection chambers of a cartridge is provided. The PIV diagnostic detector comprises a first optical module which includes (i) an LED light source for emitting substantially monochromatic light to illuminate a detection zone associated with at least one detection chamber; (ii) an excitation filter interposed between said light source and said detection zone; (iii) a light detector operable to detect fluorescent light emitted by an excited fluorescent label associated with the sample and to measure an intensity of the fluoresced light; and (iv) an emission filter interposed between said light detector and said detection zone.
