摘要: A waveguide display includes a waveguide transparent to visible light, a first volume Bragg grating (VBG) on the waveguide and characterized by a first refractive index modulation, and a second reflection VBG on the waveguide and including a plurality of regions characterized by different respective refractive index modulations. The first reflection VBG is configured to diffract display light in a first wavelength range and a first field of view (FOV) range such that the display light in the first wavelength range and the first FOV range propagates in the waveguide through total internal reflection to the plurality of regions of the second reflection VBG. The plurality of regions of the second reflection VBG are configured to diffract the display light in different respective wavelength ranges within the first wavelength range and the first FOV range.

摘要: A holographic projector is provided comprising a display device arranged to form a holographic wavefront by spatially modulating light in accordance with a hologram displayed thereon, and a waveguide having an input arranged to receive the holographic wavefront, and a first surface and a second surface arranged to waveguide the holographic wavefront therebetween, wherein the first surface is partially reflective-transmissive such that a plurality of replicas of the holographic wavefront are emitted therefrom. A size of the hologram is less than a size of an entrance pupil of a viewing system for receiving the holographic wavefront from the first surface of the waveguide and the hologram comprises a first sub-hologram of a first region of an image adjoined to a second sub-hologram of a second region of the image.

摘要: Described is a system including a display, a display controller, and control logic communicatively coupled to the display. The display controller determines, based on coordinates of a focus point on the display, boundaries of a first image region and a second image region in an output image to be rendered. The focus point is determined through tracking an eye movement of a user viewing the display. The first image region has a higher resolution than the second image region. The display controller is configured to send image data together with control signals to the control logic. The control signals cause the control logic to render the output image on the display using the image data. As part of rendering the second image region, the control logic outputs a shared signal onto signal lines that are coupled to light sources in a group of adjacent rows or columns.
