Said alignment device comprises a receptacle, having a receptacle longitudinal direction LA, for the object to be aligned and at least one first positioning device (20) having a first effective direction W1 and a second positioning device (40) having a second effective direction W2 different from the first effective device. Said alignment device is characterized in that the first positioning device (20) has a first slide element (30), on which the object to be aligned can slide in the second effective direction W2 when the second positioning device (40) is actuated, and wherein the second positioning device (40) has a second slide element (38), on which the object (12) to be aligned can slide in the first effective direction W1 when the first positioning device (20) is actuated.

摘要: A system (100) includes a long cannula (101), an optical fiber (108), and a multi-spot generator (102). The optical fiber (108) can carry a laser beam to a distal end of the long cannula (101). The multi-spot generator (102) is located within a short cannula (103) at the distal end. The short cannula (103) is disposed within the long cannula (101). The multi-spot generator (103) comprises a faceted optical element (104) and a ball lens (106). The faceted optical element (104) can be formed directly onto or separately from the ball lens (106). The ball lens (106) can be spherical or hemispherical. The ball lens (106) is press-fit in the short cannula (103).

摘要: Embodiments of the invention include a method of initiating an optical fiber of a tip assembly to form a finished tip assembly. In some embodiments, at least a portion of a distal portion of the optical fiber is coated with an energy absorbing initiating material. In some embodiments, the initiating material is an enamel material including a mixture of brass (copper and zinc) flakes or aluminum flakes in a solution of organic solvents. After the initiating material dries, a diode laser is fired through the optical fiber. The laser energy is at least partially absorbed in the initiating material and ignites the organic solvents. This combustion melts the material of the optical fiber, and impregnates the optical fiber with the metal flakes of the initiating material. The resulting initiated optical fiber is thus permanently modified so that the energy applied through the fiber is partially absorbed and converted to heat.
